Default Car start up problms

Well the motor is in and running kinda... I turn the car on and it revs fast to about 4k then just slowly keeps creeping up from there.

Any ides as to what I should look for to fix this problem?

Stuck throttle cable, vacuum leak... those are the only two things that come to mind.

Somewhere, there is a hose not attached, or something torn, or something loose, or something stuck. That's really all there is to this.

Unplug the electrical connector from the IAC valve. Verify that the dashpot thingy isn't preventing the throttle from closing. Verify that there is a tiny bit of slack in the throttle cable when closed. Verify that a sock or underpants have not been drawn through the intake and wedged the throttle plate open. Check the security of the mechanical connection of the IAC to the underside of the TB, the other valve on the inboard side of the manifold, the brake booster hose, the PCV valve hose, the throttle body itself, etc.

Unless your O2 sensor was installed on the intake manifold, it's not the problem.

idk what the problem was exactly but i put a new TB on and it runs fine now..

next question.....

since the trans came off the motor and obviously i had to break the clutch line free to pull the motor..

now when starting the car the clutch petal feels like if an ant were to walk on it it would go to the floor.. its that light..

does that mean i just need to bleed the clutch or is there something else i should look at..

It's customary to call dibs on the parts that didn't get destroyed when somebody kills their car or blows up an engine. I'm just beating the crowd.
