Ftw, nice to see a cheap option for the "not so DIY" 1.8 crowd

It looks like the BEGi-s could be CARB legal. We cannot tell you it would pass though. The system would have to be run with a fuel pump and Bipes/MSD. The two supplementary fuel injectors would require a second TB tube w/ necessary bungs. I will get a price posted for a CARB S system. Or, if someone already has those items and can forward me proof of install, I can include a CARB sticker. All other hard parts remain as stated in the EO papers - Garrett turbo, optional intercooler, open air cleaner element, cast iron manifold, exhaust connecting pipe, FPR/FMU. The design changes do not adversely affect the performance of pollution control, since the intercooler is listed as optional.

If considering in the future to go 200ish whp, what upgrades to the kit would you make when initially buying through Bell.

I'm thinking the Stainless braided oil/water lines($150), and the Downpipe.
I don't know what DP option to pick though. Is it better to get the Stainless or Mild steel DP($100 for SS)? And is it worth getting the separated wastegate gas downpipe(SS$? or MS$185)?What do you suggest?

Any pics of the mouth of the downpipe?

good, i think FM's design is stupid in making you cut the shelf to fit the turbo. Should not have to do that unless you have a mother of a turbo.

I'm really interested steph. I have this week off from work and I am down in Houston. Are you still looking for a test car? I have a 99

Better Fuel System & Intercooler.

The separated gases downpipe will spool faster than the BEGi-S one. The material depends on where you live and how hot you like your feet. The stainless will make for a slightly less warmer foot well area. However, if you don't see temps much above 85 degrees F, it won't matter much.

I will post some soon!

We bend it down slightly. Mainly to avoid a nasty vibration.

What kind of Engine management are you looking at?

Thanks Stephanie,
I'm going to run the Stock Begi-S kit for a few months and then upgrade those things for the added boost. I was just considering things that initially I would be using.

How much extra for the SS Seperate WG pipe? Is it worth the added money for the separated WG gas dp at those power levels with the quick spooling GT2554?

I think I would definitely go SS as it is very hot in Socal, regardless of separate or bellmouth, also it will look prettier:gay:

Definitely considering this kit, with a hydra and 550cc. Goal = 300hp.. Better start saving

Also, the picture on the site doesn't show a flange for an external waste gate, do you have a mani+dp, divorced gases ofc, that supports external waste gate? Can I get a picture+price? Thanks!

Bend/cut whats the diff the shelf is thick and very close to the turbo (especially the 2860) I cut mine <5mins w/sazall and no worries. Besides doing this makes it a LOT easier to get the turbo in and out - just watch your A/C and power brake lines ;-)
