ebay cast mani

Bumping this thread to ask a question to bryantaylor or miatamoxie. If you are using a -10AN return line, how long did it need to be and with what angle fittings on the pan end? I am about to order my return and would like to see if I can get the proper length on ebay from one of the nascar throw aways first. Thanks!

I used 5/8ths inch silicone hose. I have barbed ends for the hose, not -an perminant ends. I bought 2 feet and it ended up being barely the right length. I think I only ended up cutting 3 or 4 inches of length off of it. I have a straight 3/8" npt barbed fitting threaded into the oil pan.

I'm impressed that's held since most flux core wire is specifically for mild steel. Good on ya!
I've used a cast-iron specific AC stick electrode before, and preheated the manifold in the oven and cooled it really slowly back in the oven on a cast manifold for another car with good results. Cast iron is supposed to be really hard to weld reliably.

Well, the fact that BryanTaylor's username is displayed in gray means that unfortunately he won't be reading this message, and thus not giving you an update on how it's holding up.

Mine's still perfect. Nearly 10,000 miles on it at this point, daily driven and all. I'd highly recommend it for the price, even it's current price (I paid less for it when it first came out). I'm sure that spooling would be better with a tubular manifold, or a directed gas cast, but for the price, it's definitely worth it.

by the way...the heat wrap is still in great condition on the downpipe. I think the high temp silicone heat wrap sealing spray paint (made by the same company as the heat wrap) makes all the difference.
