Default Alternator rewind questions

To make a long story short, I need more juice after my BEGi install and all the new doohickies I upgraded to. I did the search and found the info on alternator rewinding. Couple of questions:

1) Since it's going to be rewound anyway, does it matter if I start with a new or used alternator?

2) Should i just take my old alternator in, or would it be worthwhile to start with a 1.8 auto alternator for the extra 10A?

Nobody?

Meh. The more research I do, the more I think I'm SOL anyway.

use an old one not a new one for sure. I would just take in your old one and let them redo it.

The question you should be asking is why do you need more power? Is there something that is putting a lot of drain on your alternator?
