Here is what works for me.

Go to a track event or some car event and be a spectator of everyone else having fun. That will get you going.

There is only 1 Hennessy car, the other is a near stock gts. I get excited because it's one of my friends getting work done on his car while mine sits and collects dust. It's motivation to get my car done, *******.

Don't you have a head gasket and a t-stat to replace?

I always watched Miata Challenge vids to get my head back in the game. Now, I find myself watching Miata Challenge vids to get my head back in the game.

Go hang out with other car guys who have their cars done. Be one of the last ones to pull out of the parking lot and just listen to all the rumbling engines as they leave. This is the biggest motivator for me.

Also- Sit in the car. Grab the shifter and the wheel. Take a look at the cluster. This usually puts a smile on my face.
