help me choose my turbo kit
OK I am finally buying a kit for my little 1.6l. Its been needed well more like wanted for awhile now. Finally this weekend I am buying. I am either buying the BEGI-S, the used fm kit from msmiata if he ever gets back to me or replies to his thread, or the used begi 4.1 from the begi site. Which do you guys think I should go with? I dont know anything about the begi 4.1 other then like its 14 yrs old. The begi s seems like a great way to start simple and proven over the greddy. The fm kit from msmiata sounds like a steal too. Can you tell me more about the begi 4.1 I cant really find info about it. My power goals for now 5-6 psi. Thats going to get boring soon so maybe in about a month or two 7-8. Eventually I want 10-12 if my engine can handle. Thank you very much.

I'd go with the S kit personally. I just like buying stuff like that new versus used, that way you know EXACTLY what you're getting (not to say anyone's used kit's are bad just buying new kits is my preference) You are right about 5-6 PSI getting boring relatively quickly though, so plan for more within the first few months. Have you already taken care of things like your clutch?

yes the clutch is upgraded . Yea I felt kind of the same way but I wasn't sure. The begi 4.1 is actually being sold used on the begi webiste from one of the employees. http://www.bellengineering.net/produ...roducts_id=317
"A BEGi employee is selling his BEGi 1.6L System 4.1 System to upgrade to a S4 turbo. It is approx. 14 years old, but is in Immaculate (pristine) condition. The system has had two owners on a single car. Both owners are good friends' of Corky. (So he can vouch for the system). The system includes an 8" intercooler, cast iron manifold, IHI turbo, air box, heatshield, downpipe, FMU, bypass valve, and intercooler tubing. Also included is mounting hardware, turbo hose, oil lines, and clamps that came off the car. Shipping is $75.00."

Aren't the IHI turbos the one's that re next to impossible to rebuild or replace given their rarity? Being that the kit is 14 years old I would look into that (could very well be wrong) because we all know that turbos don't last forever, and that could potentially end up being a big PITA.
