LINKS TO LOOK / BUY:
Shapeways | Miata Turbo Keychain - Design B - Raised

Shapeways | Miata Turbo Keychain - Design B - Sunken

NOTES:
1) Buy one and let me know if it prints out OK ;-)
2) Don't know about strength of the metal, but from what i've read it should be strong.
3) I can take paypal $$ (please no credit cards as they take a stupid % off..) Once I get enough orders (2 or 3 depending), or in a couple of days (i'm impatient) I will place an order. PM me if you want one.
4) Takes around 10 days turnaround for them to get to me.. I will then ship them out.
5) You can just go ahead and buy them yourselves if you either don't care about the $25 minimum, OR are buying more than one..
6) the shapeways website is a little buggy here & there.. make sure to confirm the material (steel) before completing purchase.

if you DO get one before me, post it up

i'm using Rhino 3D v3.0.. Got it back during college for a nice student discount.

I can adjust the mesh to whatever it needs to be.. Don't be fooled by the crappy pictures on the shapeways site. It over smooths everything... I can't guarantee the final result, but I checked the mesh I uploaded to them and it looks 100% detailed.

WonTon -- can't rotate the turbo, it would go off the edge of the keychain causing the universe to possibly explode.

Before I go sign-up and all that crap to order one..mind checking with them to see if they ship to APO addresses (military overseas, as long as they use USPS they should but just wanna make sure as some places don't) if not I'm down for ordering one through you.

I checked the site, it says they ship worldwide with UPS.. can you have it delivered somewhere local to where you're at? an acquaintance's house or maybe they have something like "goin postal" that will take it?

Otherwise, yeah just paypal me the cost and i'll buy one.

-----------------------

Good (odd) news.. Someone bought the original more 3d design i put up, it's on the front page of the site for the moment! i'm so excited!... Was it one of you guys?

Also as i said i'm impatient... i bought one of each "design b", will take pictures once they arrive.

That really looks like a cool site... its a convenient way to make "one off" things....is there a limit on the size of things they can make??

yeah.. like 1 to 2 feet cubed... The cost gets prohibitive with volume though..

Figure this little keychain is $10... if you were to scale it up 200% in every direction, that would result in 2x2x2=8 times the cost, so $80...

I love the concept, but as they describe on the site, it's still a lot of manual labor so i guess that'll keep the prices high..

One day i will own one of those machines and be printing all sorts of crap!

Hopefully these are not aluminum. The last aluminum bottle opener I tried to use had worn down on the lip, and, as we say in Texas, was as useless as **** on a Boar Hog. It would not grab the edge of the cap.

I'm not trying to completely thredjack here but all of this bottle opener talk I just have to share:

LaRue Tactical Beverage Entry Tool LT-205

Greatest bottle opener ever, twist off, cans, and regular bottles all covered

I'l be grabbing at least one of these though once someone posts up some actual pictures.

ok i'll say it again

ANYONE CAN GO THERE AND BUY ONE. RIGHT NOW. OR EVEN NOW.

So if you want one, u can definitely just sign up and buy it.

OR pm me, and i'll tell u where to send the $.. when enough people send me cash (two or three depending on which ones people want) i will buy it and then re-ship to you once it arrives.

So once again... if you want one (or one of each) just go buy it on the site, it's live, ready to buy.
