Im really lucky, my wife loves our miatas. I was going to buy a donor Miata to get my upgraded 1.8 drivetrain and she actually convinced me to rebuild the 97 for her and even let me buy a 3rd Miata so I could still upgrade my drivetrain.

She loves driving in the mountains and is getting fast enough that she had me grabbing the windshield and door handle last time we went out. When I sold my bike she said she would do at least one track day. Too bad I can't get her to autocross, but she says autocross just happens too fast.

The best part is that she actually likes a miata that "swooshes", she wouldn't mind my miata swooshing like my Jetta. Also we met at school while I was studying mechanical engineering. It's nice to have a wife that not only can help you but actually knows what the hell is going on under the hood.

Firs time I went to your place I thought the children of the corn would come out of your lawn. Just because you live in a non HOA neighborhood doesn't mean you get to never cut that corn!

The only whining when driving the Miata is me when I'm driving my wife's BRG. Stock powered POS. She gets mad at me when I'm accelerating and pushing on the dash to make it go faster. She says it's fine. I keep offering to turbo it for her and she says no. Probably just as well. I have zero tickets. She has a couple. When I turboed mine she said that I would catch up to her. So far I haven't even been stopped in it.

My girlfriend gets jealous but she says as soon as I make her my fiance she won't care anymore. Really though she knows how important it is to me and she is willing to learn which is really cool.

My wife didn't like the bone stock 90 when I bought it, but it's growing on her as it develops. She actually just asked if I could put a clutch like mine in her Xterra (See sig.).

She likes it when our sons (2 & 4) help me with the car. She also knows that for every hour I'm in the garage, it's an hour I'm not whoring it up with my old buds. She's a good woman.

hahaha you're so fooled.

engagement and marriage do absolutely nothing to a relationship.

you miss the point. if your relationship sucks enough that you're pondering "locked in" and "alimony", then DONT GET MARRIED.

If it does anything it makes it worse. The day I bought a ring and put it on her finger...my soon to be wife turned into a distinct person from the hot, fun chick that was my friend and booty buddy.

I'm still trying to find that girl again...and her opinion of the Miata is the least of our problems.

+1

Don't ever ignore warning signs. Things don't magically fix themselves because of a little chunk of jewelery. Problems actually escalate, if there are any, and the stakes are much higher.

Don't ignore the warning signs. Run away. Run like hell.

She was putting on an act to get the ring. Once you are married she will turn even worse. Many who put on the act just to lure a ring out of you won't maintain their weight, put on makeup, or even do their hair after marriage. You are "stuck like Chuck" at that point. Both eyes open. Keep both eyes open.

Giving her a ring was a test, and she failed. It will get worse as the stakes go up.

Yeah.....a meaningful relationship doesn't mean "locked in". A good relationship is wanted by both people and it should get better and better as time goes on, not worse.

A "good relationship" is mutually exclusive casual sex without commitment or the terms "boyfriend," "girlfriend" or, well, "commitment" being used.

That's just depressing. :/ Why do you think that?
