Aww I feel so loved, I get yelled at and then Savington, Trent, Hustler, and Cueball1 all yell at ya, I think I may cry. My apologies for crapping on your awesome thread with my meager story.

Btw I'm running about the same horsepower figures as you at ~2000lbs. I'd rape you.

I bet they were letting you get ahead so if there were any cops around, they'd pop you first

For the sake of arguement, not the OP's story, a 200rwhp Miata still wouldn't take a Vantage Cabriolet from a roll. Now, from a dig it would have the advantage..but from a roll? Nah. Those cars are designed to be rockets once they're rolling. It's like the Maybach I raced. Yeah, he was racing too..because he asked if I wanted to race...not me doing a surprise take-off. Anyway, from a dig to 60ish, I killed him...both cars have ~1/10 hp-lb weight ratio (6000lb car with 620hp, 2503lb car with 250rwhp) but moving all that weight from a stand still is harder for him....but from a roll....it would have been a spectator sport on my end.

I took a Lambo LP640 IN MY GF's MSM no really...I did.... he just didn't know he was in a surprise race!

i just said 200whp but i never got it dyno, it could be 150whp or it could be 240whp im just estimating here..... I'm not trying to argue or anything, but i know he was trying to race. As a matter of fact when we both look at eachother and i downshifted and i was waiting for him to make the move and as soon as i heard his engine roar i hit it. I wouldnt come here and post this bullshit story for no reason, you could either believe me or not

Do me a big favor...go back a re-read where........actually, let me quote myself, then read it and let it sink in for a few hours....then come back and make a damn post displaying some goddamn reading comprehension.

For the sake of arguement, not the OP's story, a 200rwhp Miata....

Man, why are your Vagoo's so sandy around here? Didn't have to totally **** on the guys thread and maybe dream did ya all?

I learned something on a crotch rocket a few years ago when a pretty heavily modified WRX decided to initiate a race with me on the highway.. ZX11 could walk away from the vast majority of cars on the highway who tried to race you so I never thought twice about downshifting from 5th gear to toy with this guy. Needless to say, he completely handed my *** to me because I neglected to downshift. Didn't think I needed to, I was wrong. After going back down to second gear it wasn't a problem to put a hurtin' on him.. Could've been the case?

Also could've been a shitty ferrari 308? Could've been a 355, they're not that quick either; Sound ******* sexy as hell but still not that quick. Maybe the Aston was a Jag? They've got a couple which are similar profile to an Aston?

V8 Vantage 0-60 5.1 seconds
Quarter mile 13.3 at 106 mph
Price ~$120k

The really slow trap speed tells me that a reasonably strong Miata could likely take him from a roll, as evidenced by the story.

He won. Where's the love? Why are you guys so down on Miatas anyway? You're a bunch of damn Miata haters. If you made any more excuses for those prestige marque cars losing they'd give you honorary memberships into the Porsche Club of America.

I thought everybody loves a winner. Where are the "atta boy" and "good job" and "you sure showed him" remarks? A guy shared a fun and interesting kill story of not one, but two snob cars, and all he gets is this? Shameful. We get enough of this crap on the outside. I don't think it is right to bring it to a proud DIY turbo Miata owner's kill thread.

To the op: Good job. Sure wish you knew what model Ferrari it was. Could you pick it out of a lineup? If you get a chance to go on ebay and look at some of those, let us know if you see one like it.

Either one of those cars' nice sounding exhaust systems costs more than your whole turbo Miata. That should make you even happier to beat them.

Having driven many AM's and the Ferrari 430 (which I *think* is the one the OP "raced"), I will say that it is absolutely possible that a boosted Miata could walk on one. They really aren't anything special.

Those 1/4 speeds and times are pretty much what my car does with my crappy launch abilities. The Vantage would certainly be vulnerable to the awesomeness of a turbo Miata!

There's a lot of high priced machinery out there with those sorts of stats. Take a look at the back of R&T sometime and make note of everything you should be able to "kill". What's scary to me is how many 13 second Mercedes are out there. They've really jumped hard into the HP wars the last few years.

The BFG TA comment was all in good fun. Sometimes it's tough for that to come across in a post!

Whats scary to ME is how many 11 second Mercedes there are!

Brabus will present at the IAA Motor Show in Frankfurt a 720 hp 1,320 Nm of torque monster Mercedes C-Class - the BRABUS BULLIT. As Brabus says, the BRABUS BULLIT has a top speed of more than 360 km/h (224 mph) and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

They have to limit the torque to save the transmission!

Alright, I guess I've always had a special place in my heart for ferraris and Aston martins, and an unspecial place in my heart for my car, which seems to give me more trouble than not. My apologies miataspeed, congrats on the kills. If I ever return to Connecticut well have to race. Cause then if I beat you, I can say I'm faster than a Ferrari and Aston martin.

0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile all from R&T. I cut out all the info on motors, hp, weight, braking, slalom, etc. Those Mercedes are awfully impressive considering most of them are well over two tons! Would be nice if they added a lap time to the stats.
