anyone know of a decent front grill that won't interfere with a front mount intercooler. that might be a retarded question for some, but i dont really know where those grilles mount to and i don't want to waste $100 from miatamania for nothing....thanks

I don't know of any grilles but I do know that they can interfere with cooling. If the mesh "tight" the grille can act like a wall as speed increases. If you are looking to hide your IC you can spray it lightly with flat black radiator paint.

Here's a pic of my Buck Diamond Grill that I've had since '02. The spoiler is gone, the lights are out of the mouth, but the BD Grill is still in place.

I've been Uber'd since Spring '04 & am now running an FMII GT3071R down here in Tucson. In the 3yrs that I've been FI'd, I've only once had any overheating. That was going up a hill on I-10 East of Benson when a trucker that could only go 45mph up the hill decided to pass the truck in front that could only go 44mph. When the temp gauge started to rise, I killed the A/C & did the old MG/Fiat trick of heater on Max, blowing out the vents. It was a little uncomfy since it was August in the desert, but the temps came down quickly.

It should be noted that I have the big FM PWR radiator with the OEM fans, 30%/70% coolant/water and my shrouding around the mouth has lots of gaps. I plan on rectifying that in the very near future.
