Default What kind of rollbar did i just buy

Saw a CL for a Hard Dog double diagonal and went for it, paid the guy $400 for it. Come back and look at it and it looks a bit different. Pics attached. I emailed pics to Bethania garage and they said it wasn't a hard dog. Doesn't look like a boss frog either. It feels solid, 50-60 lbs, coating is good, welds look good but I don't have the experience to really tell the difference. Am I gonna die if I roll over in this thing? Gonna have to have some backing plates made, no problem there, but just wanted to get some thoughts on it.

Looks like a Kirk Racing. I found a 6 point version:

Kirk 6 point Double Diagonal Rollbar for Miata

That's the one. He dropped it off at my place in philly this morning. Nice guy, seemed sincere but i guess he got the bar off someone else so he thought it was a hard dog.

Don't forget to use backing plates on the underside. They may or may not have been included with the sale.

I emailed kirk racing to ask if they could send me the hardware as the guy didn't have any of it with him. That or I'll just send measurements to a metal shop and have them make some for me.

Thanks for the reminder. I might have to get some of these made since the ones I got with my 'new to me' bar were rusty as heck... Might sand and clearcoat, but I might just have someone make a set when they're working on the roll bar.
