Default Replacing seals?

Is this something that I can do myself or would you recommend taking to a mechanic? It seems I have a little bit of oil in my 4th cylinder and I am thinking it is the seals.

probably the valve cover gasket... check and see if it's on the plug wire boot and the top of the plug. If it's not, then you probably have a bad ring in that cylinder.

Ya its at the boot of the wire and top of the plug. Glad it's only a gasket. How much do OEM ones go for?

I don't like to use aftermarket valve cover gaskets, they are only about $18 at the dealer and I've never gotten an aftermarket to seal right. I'm also a big fan of the OEM NGK wires.

That being said I've used a number of parts from ebay including that same timing belt kit, and a top end rebuild kit. I've had good luck with them being worth the price. The water pump makes a bit of noise (it interferes with the cylinder wall by about .005", but that's it.

Which "seals" are you thinking about?

It's probably your valve cover gasket.
