they did not take the used lugnuts.
They took 15/16 lugnuts :(

Yep. If somebody decides they want to start stealing wheels all they have to do is go to the local autozone or wherever, puck up a few sets of those spline lugnuts, and there in business. The only thing is, they have to sell them somehow. I'd check with local pawn shops too.

I gave the officer a picture to pass along. She said they'd start circulating it around the local pawn shops around the end of the week.

I'm in a similar (but less costly) boat. Someone stole the sidemarkers off of my S2000. I'm in a very nice neighborhood but not far from a less-nice neighborhood. My car is parked on the street, but right under a bright street light at a very open intersection.

Luckily, they were removed very cleanly and not cut - and they are like $30 shipped for OEM units. Time to rotate the wife's car out to the street and the Honda in to the garage, I guess.

What neighborhood? I'm right behind UCF, and sounds like you described my place.

You can bash a crappy $3 socket on a splined nut to get it off. Works if you loose your key. Although most of the time the socket and nut become one. With enough practice I'm sure you could make the socket reusable once you've formed it over one.

More like downtown - think Thornton/College/Baldwin Park.

Well, that majorly sucks. Happens in college towns, though. Some ******** stole the K-Mart radio out of my '71 Beetle.

Buy new wheels.
I've got my stockers I'm going to roll around on for a bit. I'd hate to spend the money on new wheels only to have them jacked again. I'l wait a few years till I move.

When I called my dad about it, he retold me the story of having his WalMart tape deck stolen out of his Alfa ten years ago. Slashed the top on an unlocked car to take a $20 radio.

Well there ya go. Nothing wrong with the Daisys, just put a set of Star Specs on 'em.

Funny, because the Beetle they took my tape deck from while I was at UF was also a convertible. And I wish that they'd have slashed the top, because it needed replacing anyway. No, this dipshit used a big screwdriver to pry the vent window out, putting a big dent in the top of the door panel, ******* up the original paint, and destroying the nearly irreplaceable vent window frame.

Looks like the local cops where I live had some wheels stolen to. Here is the article.

I also have felt that pain. Some A-hole smashed the windows on my F150, in my drive way, and took whole stereo system, PSP and a bunch of Xmas presents.
Let us know if you find the guy and what kind of *** whoopin he gets.

Years ago, I dropped off my FC to get painted. They parked it behind the shop in a fanced/barbwired lot. Got a call two days later that my car was on blocks and they took my nice 17" VOLK GT-Ns...it's teh suckage. I still think it was an inside job.

Luckily, it's an NB, so no Daisys. Also, I'm working on making some spacers so they don't look so sunken in.
