I've noticed a rather interesting division between subway people vs. bus people.
Now, we need to stipulate here that while the subway is by far the speediest means of transit across long distances in NYC, the number of subway lines is relatively small as compared to the number of bus lines. Utilizing the subway tends to involve walking many blocks, and also descending / ascending several flights of stairs. So it's far faster than the bus for journeys longer than a few stops, but also requires more physical exertion to utilize.
Fat / old / white people are much more common on the buses than on the subway.
For the subway is the crucible.
That is all.
I've had the blessing curse of driving in Manhattan several times. Once with a 16-ft rental box truck, the other two times in a Jeep commander or something. The rental companies act like they're doing you a favor by giving you a larger vehicle for the same price as a compact. Bastards.
Anyway, what I found works for me is just focusing on moving forward. Stop paying attention to what everyone else is doing around me, and just keep inching forward. Eventually I made it to my destination each time, but it was a race against the sun burning out.

Back when I rode the subway(affectionately nicknamed "The Electric Sewer"), GCT to Wall St on the 4,5,6 trains, there was no air conditioning. THAT was a crucible. Mankind in all it's fragrant glory, crushed together in an enclosed space in summer. Good times. Pussies rode the bus.

I will say that I've found riding in the space between the cars to be a refreshing and cathartic experience. It can be a little bumpy in spots and you probably don't want to fall off, but it gives you some personal space if you happen to be doing a long haul on one of the busier lines during rush. The Lexington Line (4/5/6) is notorious as the most overcrowded route in the system, and happens to also be the nearest major line to me.
Actual 4 train during evening rush:
I've been looking at this kitty but the only thing that worries me is the FIV.

I know it was something we were worried about when we adopted our street urchin kitty so I looked into it a bit. She tested clean so I didn't get too into it, but it sounds like it could be a hassle down the road. Lots of time and dedication.

According to the vet it may cause dental problems in the older kitties. Thats about it though. The main thing they said was that if its an outside cat then it may be harmed but its strictly indoor it wont be. So i dont know if the vet is just trying to help the pet adoption agency or if thye are really telling me the truth.
Only recommendation I have would be to skip the iA and go for the Mazda3. It's a couple grand more, but it's a LOT more car, and can get in hatchback form, and not a horribly ugly Scion.
The iA is a good driving little car but after driving them back to back I would DEFINITELY go Mazda3 over it.

Job promotion is possibly in my near future, MSM payments are done officially next month. I would like to garage the MSM and start gathering parts that 'I' want for it, start stripping out weight etc.
I'd rather put parts into the MSM than have a higher car payment with the mazda3, flip side... If doing so, I'd want a more reliable & cheap A -> B vehicle to drive to work like the scion ia.
I honestly have no issues with the scion ia, it's small... looks good (even the catfish face). I'd throw springs or coils on it, 949 6ULs if & when they're released in the 15x6 15x7 size. Amsoil all the fluids. Consider the OVtuned group buy and just enjoy it. Rev the **** out of it
Then again, a base black Mazda3 2.0L sedan is... very temping And all black themed car comes to mind, dark tint, charcoal 6UL rims, springs/coils, ov tune

Since you don't already have it / haven't done it:
All-black cars scream "lazy trash" to me. Every time I see one I just kinda shrug it off as unimaginative.
Plus Mazda has some good blues and reds in their lineup that will always look better--even dirty as ****.

Meh, I bought black RPF1s for the BURRZZZ because I was able to get them like 40% cheaper than the color I wanted. But I don't have tinted windows/lights or any of that junk.
Another issue with my pos msm. Speedo sensor is crapping out lately. Mph drops to zero in higher temps, no issue in the morning
Pickup a 3.63 geared sensor and swap the gear since I plan on a new r&p later??
