The accidents here occur because it's a four lane road. People see the obnoxious flashing yellow and miss the tiny little sign that says stop. Usually people get hit when one lane stops but the next lane doesn't.

Having spent 15 months of my life in areas of the world were pedestrians DO NOT have the right of way, our traffic system boggles me.

"Larger vehicles must stop and/or yield to bikes and pedestrians at all times."

In those other areas of the world (the rest of the world) what happens when a pedestrian wants to cross is this: they wait for an opportunity in the near lane. When it comes, they walk out to the center stripe, and wait for an opportunity in the far lane. When it comes, they finish crossing the road.

To an uninitiated murrican, it's "OMG the pedestrian has a death wish, walked out so close to me."

But that's not how it plays out, as all. The pedestrian sees an opening, and calmly takes it. The driver, KNOWING THE PEDESTRIAN IS NOT A SELF-ENTITLED "THE WORLD WILL STOP FOR ME" *******, doesn't worry about the pedestrian. No emergency braking, just gives the pedestrian some room. Traffic continues to flow and life goes on.

Of course, there are crosswalks that are designated as pedestrian right of way. The zebra (zeh-bruh) crossings. At these, pedestrians are cautious and wait to see that the drivers are indeed going to stop as they are supposed to.

I mean, I get it. The more vulnerable road user gets the right of way. I get it. It's a great theory. But I think, in practice, we have as a nation demonstrated that it pretty much fails. Pedestrians get drilled in the US all the time, despite having right of way. I remember when I lived in the Bay Area, taking a San Francisco cab, and the homeless and the cab drivers would play chicken. The homeless would just walk the **** out in the street, whenever they felt like it, because right of way. The cab drivers would give them the minimal amount of room necessary.

It's stupid and pointless. Pedestrians in the US are enormously self-entitled and clueless.

That doesn't make it any less against the law to hit pedestrians. And people who blow through crosswalks are still retards.

Don't disagree with you, it's stupid, but it's still the rules.

*** lights are not worth the money for your garage. Unless you are looking for build quality.

Been fishing for this wire under my dash. Original owner or whomever... Decided it would be great to hook up the check engine light to a toggle switch to switch on/off for XEDE reasons. It used to be soldered but now it looks like the other end seems to be missing. The wire is white with a blue line but I'm unable to locate the other end for crap.

Would anyone be so kind to link the wiring diagram of where it leads to the actual light so I'm looking at the right wire loom? It's a hacked up mess under there, I'm surprised my car runs.

Check your messages.. About to send a link to all the wiring and owners manuals I have.

You are looking for a wire that is labeled "W/L"

I know there are two that go into the fuel pump relay, at least on my car.

It does make much more sense for the object traveling 40+mph to keep moving and the one moving at 3mph to stop.

But it makes much more sense than what they have there to actually put in a real traffic light that changes from green to yellow to red when someone presses the button. They have those types of yellow flashers at the beach for a divided four lane here. They have to bring a mop when a pedestrian gets hit at 45mph.

I like driving in Lima, Peru. Everyone is nuts and drives like a maniac, but they all pay attention because of it. Nobody doesn't watch all the other drivers. The pedestrians fend for themselves. Right turn from the far left lane is normal, and doesn't result in accidents; but gives me a lot to laugh about.

Does anyone have the ability to turn a PDF file into a word file so I can edit it? I don't have the deluxe version of Acrobat.

Same deal in Manhattan. It seems like chaos, but it' a functional chaos, and everyone (drivers, cyclists, pedestrians) is highly aware of their surroundings.
