How (and why) to Ramble on your goat sideways
Record rain in the the Keys/Key West today. Got 3-4" in the garage but nothing was hurt. Our gigantic french drains and sub-pumps couldn't keep up with the water flow from the street (low point between two houses).
Pics of downtown.

Fixed.
I've read some threads over there when searching for stuff on The Google and the level of Aggressive Dumbness is really astonishing. Just a pack of mouthbreathers desperately trying to reassure themselves that they're not chronically fucktarded. Sadly, this seems to include the Mods, who not only tolerate but actually seem to encourage such foolishness. I've learned to just skip over any CR threads that come back in a search, they just make my head hurt, and my faith in mankind waver.

I've been a member there for about 3 years, and have made 3 posts I think. There are a few intelligent people over there, but trying to find useful information is akin to wading through a cesspool because someone may have dropped a quarter in it. Just not worth it in my opinion.

The difference, i care to learn new things, most of them do not.
Which is precisely why it bothers me to read there. So many questions that have been answered ad nauseum, yet get posted daily and then get answered incorrectly. The ones who don't care to learn repeat bad information like parrots. It must drive the ones who actually give a crap insane.

I do maintain an active CR account so that when someone posts a link to an amusing thread here, I can pop over and make an observation or two. This is, I will note, the one and only forum I participate in with a username other than my real name.
I wonder if anyone here can guess the identity of my CR alter-ego?
Heh.

FWIW, they have good group buys, and nice vendors over there. Apart from gomiata, **** them.
I like to sometimes get baller parts for my car i know you guys don't care about. I have a little inner ricer in me.
Though USPS did just loose my tow hooks... Maybe it's a sign from the gods saying that $80 was better spent under the hood.

Two old guys installed a Hard Dog M2 in just 6-1/2 hours today. And that includes a leisurely lunch break. Although I have helped do one once before, so I'm not completely clueless. But I am pretty worn out and will spend the rest of the evening being a couch potato.

Also, I just got back from my friends wedding. I now 100% expect to die alone. :(

This right here is a SON OF A BITCH:
It's mostly bamboo and it's a pile as wide as the car parked next to it and almost as high (after smooshing it down) and 8 or so feet long.
This is where it came from:
It was filling in the space between the chain link fence and where the grass starts to look green and thick and lush, pretty much the full width of the bamboo on the far side of the fence. Maybe a 20' x 4' patch? A lot of it was broken and had been covering a lot of our yard, even beyond where the random shoot is in the grass on the right. A heavy snow was responsible for that.
I had only intended to remove enough to be able to build my shed (which will end about where the 2x is) but I got crazy with the carbide-tipped sawzall blade and just chopped it all out. I still need to dig up the roots for some of it, but man does it make the yard bigger.
meanwhile, while I was sawing away, some random yard cleanup dude came by to hustle me out of some plants and money. funny highlight? his eyes were SUPER bloodshot and when I asked him if he mowed lawns, he said he did not do grass. suuuure he doesn't!
