I need some major computer help!!
All of a sudden, AVG 2012 free edition picked up a threat, saying it removed it to quarantine, but it recommended I restart. I couldn't because I was in the middle of working on something. Literally less than a minute and I got a blue screen with a bunch of gibberish on it saying something like "dumping files 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,........".
I've restarted, did a system recovery back to this morning, scanned the computer with nothing found, etc etc. The computer is still showing my memory all over the place. Totally erratic, jumping to 100% and staying there for quite some time.
Right now I'm running malwarebytes as recommended by cnet, but what else can I do? I've been going into the task manager watching which processes are sucking up the memory, but I don't want to end something I need.
All help is greatly appreciated, as this is my MAIN computer that has years and years worth of hard work, pictures, files, etc etc. I'd seriously go ape ---- if it cant be fixed relatively easy. This is what worries me about starting a business that revolves around the ------- thing.

Can't help you other than to suggest that you take it to a pro... and for the love of sweet baby Jesus, get yourself some redundancy.
I haven't bought a single song since I got my Pandora subscription, so I can't say I'd ever miss losing any music I have stored, but ALL of my photos and documents are saved on a couple 500gb external drives that don't stay plugged into the computer. Whenever I fill up a memory card in one of my cameras, I break out the drives, transfer all the photos to both of them, then put them back in their cases. This happens about twice a month or so, and I'll also go through my desktop and email to see if there's anything I want saved permanently and transfer that stuff over to.
Those drives are on my list of "STUFF I MUST GRAB" on my way out the door if the house is on fire. I also don't keep them in the same place. One is in the office, and one is in the bedroom. I think I would literally sit down and cry if I lost every single photo and video I have of my kids because I relied on my home computer plugged into the internet as my only form of storage.
I don't keep anything on the computer itself other than programs for the exact thing you're going through.

I can help you, Vash.
I have a great deal of experience and expertise with data recovery/system recovery (Ran a computer business for years, sadly). Throw me a PM with preferred contact info (IMs, vent, etc. preferred - I've tried to do this crap over forums, and it ------- fails hard due to the format).

Well, now I'm on the laptop. The desktop blue screened me, then started popping up dozens of windows with error messages, fake looking programs, half my desktop icons are now missing, etc etc.
WTF!>?@ Why do people create these ------- things in the first place!? What can they benefit by ------- my whole night up??
This is just ------- insane now. I never had it go this crazy on me before.
AVG was popping up saying multiple trojan threats found, but when I went to remove them it said the objects couldnt be found.
I dont know what to do. I seriously had a split second thought of smashing both monitors and throwing the tower out the window. If I could afford to, I would. Unfortunately, I cant. lol

This.
First off, it's important to realize that whatever is wrong at the moment has most likely fuсked up the OS, but the actual data on the machine (all of your important files) are probably just fine.
So step #1 in a situation like this is always to pull the drive out of the machine, stick it into a USB enclosure, plug it into a different computer as a slave drive, and duplicate all of the data. Turn the machine off and stop screwing around with anti-virus software, and just get the data duplicated. This way, no matter how badly you screw the thing up trying to fix it, your data is safe. Your local PC shop will have the resources available to do this easily. Bring an extra hard drive (if you have one) to act as the target for the backup.
Step #2 varies as to resources available. I don't usually even bother try to fix machines which have suffered any kind of serious infection or are otherwise fubar'd with regard to the OS; it's faster and easier to just reformat it and re-install.
Coming from anyone else, I'd have regarded that as an idle threat.

Hey thanks bro's. Blaen has been helping me through it and I'm backing everything up as we speak.
I'm going to make sure the next time this happens I wont need to get all worked up over it. Tonight it wasn't so bad. I packed up some fresh green to keep from really stomping it the ---- out.
Failflora, dont you have some fa66ot thread of yours to go ramble away in about some new dumb ---- idea you have? You and gearhead should hang out together and work on cars. You guys are both pretty good at that.

Oops. I. Did. It. Again.
Went to the urgent care clinic but I couldn't afford it. 3 of the cuts need stitches. If I pull the pinky flap I can uncover the whole knuckle. Hopefully no bones are injured.
---- me.
