I remember being linked to it from some gamer site. They said that you are actually out of it while you are moved about. So when you come back into it, you have no ******* idea what just happened and it becomes real to you.
I agree its not OUT OF CONTROL like duke nukem, but that has to be a insane adrenaline rush. Hey I'd rather be in the hands of zombie actors and some hypnotist then be swung around by a 5000lb robot arm of steel.

That force dynamics rig looks like an awesome piece of hardware. Trying to imagine playing Wing Commander on it.
The absolute coolest arcade game I've ever played was Dactyl Nightmare on a Virtuality 1000 back in the early 90s. It was a true virtual reality platform running a multiplayer (2-4) FPS with a very responsive (even by today's standards) multi-axis player tracking system and true 3D HMD. Basically, you turn your head, look up and down, etc., and you "see" what you're "looking at". You duck down, your player ducks down. You turn your body, your player's body turns. You move your hand, your player moves his hand. Etc...
Info is a bit hard to come by, but:

Gameplay was slow, the field was small, graphics were blocky and un-shaded, sound was primative, but it was still the awesomest videogame I've ever played.

You wanna hear something pathetic? I had a weird dream last night..
All the detail I can remember was that my wife and I were playing a sort-of "tag" game, but you had to have a boulder about the size of a basketball in order for the tag to count. Once you tagged the other person, they disappeared and you had to go find them again.
It wasn't so strange until I realized, after drinking a cup of coffee, that I had just had a dream where I was participating in a first-person shooter (of sorts). Maybe I need to lay off the CoD.
