Now I need to call a lawyer
The effing SOB shop effed up my engine, and tried to effing hide it from me. !!
I am beyond words right now, the wife stoped me at the door, I had my bat and I was about to go do some damage.
I hoped in the car at the shop and started it up, noticed the air bag light was on. So I asked them about it, they said oh the air bag sensor is in the trunk. I figured no problem I will install it when I get home. I pop the hood, and the trunk, and notice the air bag sensor is effing mangled. I go to the front of the car, and look inside and notice my front crank pulley is bent, WTF! I start my car and the front pulley is wobbling all over the place on my engine. After I called and ripped them a new ***, I grabbed my bat because I wasn't satisfied, thats when the wife stopped me. I have to go back tomorrow for the bumper covers, and the spoiler. God help if I don't kill him.

Dude if you "lose it" you will end up losing more than your temper. Is easy for me to tell you to relax; I wouldve want to drive by with an AK. I think you should get a certified mechanic to diagnose your car, I say certified in case this gets out of hand and you need proof of the damage. Then talk to the shop owner about what his position is on the subject. If he refuses to acknowledge responsability then you might have to file a claim in you circuit court, which can be cost you some moola, time and effort. I would ask at the firm I work in but state laws change withing each state so it would be pointless. :duno: Good luck

The thing you want to NOT do is go to them with a bat. You will not only lose the case but also will probably go to jail. You will lose everything.
Do it the smart way. Get a GOOD lawyer.

well the doors are assembeled, and I have cooled down considerably. I took a ton of pictures, and removed the front crank pulley. I might get off easy with just a damaged harmonic balancer! The air bag sensor beat the crap out of the supports on the cooling fans too, and scratched the paint off my intake tube. It just missed the BoV

when i drop my car off for paint they're either getting a 5psi overboost protection msq, or 3000rpm hard rev limit.
If someone dropped off a 300whp miata at your shop, do you think "the help" would be able to resist taking it out? I don't.

they unbolted the air bag sensor, and then let it dangle behind the radiator. When they drove it into the paint both, the AB sensor must have made contact with the crank pulley. And then they had a party under there.

The owner of the shop was very cool, he drove out to my house with the replacement balancer. While I bolted it on he checked the car in the sun. He showed me where his shop screwed up on the rear bumper, and the A pillars. Looks like they will have the car for another week. I didn't even really notice the cracks in the rear bumper, until you get up close to it you don't even see them.
Engine started and ran fine with the new balancer. We both agreed to give it 100 miles, if nothing goes a stray then we call it cool. His painter fessed up to it, and he is more than willing to pay for a crank swap if need be.

This is purely speculation, but this is how I think it happened.
I told the paint shop they didn't need to paint the radiator support, because I am going to cover it. As such I did not remove the hood latch, horn, AB sensor, etc. Well the painter decided to paint the support, and removed the hood latch, horn, and the AB sensor. Instead of unplugging them he dangled them behind the radiator. He then drove the car in to the paint booth. That is when he heard a loud thunk, and metal hitting metal. He looked under the hood, and noticed the AB sensor sitting in one of the cooling fans. He claims he forgot to tell the boss, who was away at the time. So I think what happened is the AB sensor was dangling close enough to the crank pulley that when he turned into the booth the sensor swung, the pulley caught it, and all hell broke loose.
The pulley is seriously effed up. The serpentine pulley is bent 1/2" from the v-belt pulley in one spot, and the four bolt flange is actually cracked around 2 of the bolts.
As for him telling the truth, the owner is a god fairing man. As he told me, he had been praying for a positive resolution. And that God would punish him, even if he thought about lying to me about it.
Now I am not very religious, but hell if it keeps a shop owner honest, hurray for God!

well his pesonal views aside if he actualy made **** right i would forgive him exp after he drove out to my place and manned up. I dont mind people who make mistakes and fess up to them it's the people who do **** on purpose and try to pass it off as a mistake that i take issue with most of the time. Just cause A they dont think you will notice or B they think it will be funny to do.
