Yeah, but book smart and common sense smart don't always go together. For some people they are like oil and water. I know a few people who where straight A students, but common sense, dumb as ******* rocks.

Could you build a Z06 into a better car than a ZR1? Yeah, with enough money you could build a honda civic into a better car than a ZR1.. But why would you?
The ZR1 costs $31,745 more than the Z06. Just what do you get for your extra $32k? The Z06 and ZR1 use the same aluminum chassis however most of the body panels are made of Carbon fiber. Under the hood you've got a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 engine is based on the LS3 but with many changes. It has a forged steel crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, a dry-sump oil system, and hollow-stem exhaust valves. Titanium is also used for the intake valves. An Eaton R2300 supercharger and Behr intercooler force fuel and air into the engine, resulting in 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque. Add in a Twin-disc cluck pack, and beefed up gearbox/rear axle combination. Suspension is the same for the most part except for magnetorheological variable dampening shocks giving you a better ride than the Z06. Like the Z06 it uses 6 piston front and 4 piston rear calibers, however replacing the tiny rotors with massive 15.5-inch-diameter front and 15.0-inch rear Brembos.
2012 Z06 MSRP is $74,375 for the 1LZ, however the 3LZ is $82,495. Back to the question.. Could you spend ~$25k to build a Z06 that outperforms a ZR1? Yeah, but why bother? If I had the money for a Z06 would I buy and build it? **** yes. Would I rather just have a bone stock ZR1? Absolutely. One word, Reliability.
However, since this is a picture/video thread..
I give you a compound boosted 1000rwhp ZR1 that I think could be SO much quicker than it is...
(however I think that built shitbox actually beat it @ 2min in.. lol)

So an EG civic is a shitbox?
That little EG civic could run 9s with half that power
But yes, I agree, Pretty sad to have a 1000+ hp car thats only running in the 10s
^That runs 8s with a LS/Vtec and a gt42

Very bad
If you wanted a crazy fast car but don't have crazy tall stacks as Pusha would say, they maybe one might consider picking up a used Z06 and adding lots-o-power via FI n' stuff.
I think that "1000hp" Vette needs moar traction
Me gusta EG hatch, not in drag form or with crazy power though, just with a little less weight, a little more pawa and a few upgrades here and there.

Of course they had to *** the video up with a bunch of **** music..955 is close enough for me.
Guess as of July 18 2010 it's a little more power now..
I'm sure those three videos are the same car, but I'm not sure the mods are same in all.. Don't think the first video was even turbo?

That thing was sick. They came down with a group of retardedly quick ****, one of which was an old beat up yellow Vega. He had a pair of 60-1 on a ~380" Gen II SBC with a 'we're still tuning' megasquirt.. It was requested we go from a roll which I was cool with since they couldn't brake boost because of an issue they had so I opted for a 30mph roll to utilize my first gear. Got a really big jump right off the last honk because of their issue, it'd cut out on the transition into boost but after that they reeled me in before I could hit 85mph and was all down hill from there. Learned some time later once their ignition problem was solved it clicked off some pretty healthy times almost a solid second quicker than a 2004 600RR could make with a pro riding it.... "We just want to see how we'll do..."
Last I knew Jake (Perish) was building something silly like a twin-turbo 427 LSx in something along the lines of a ford Fairmont. Been a couple years, though.
Edit: Uh, Yeah, This:
Jesus, I can't believe its been that long.. I raced the truck and that Vega in I guess 2007 or 2006.. Can't recall for sure which.
