Default Are Miatas invisible?

Just wanted to vent a little bit. I am finally going to repaint my car and fix the damage from the two girls who rear ended me last year on different occassions. This happen to anyone else? Both times I was stopped at a redlight with several other cars. Both times the female driver behind me who had been stopped behind me decided to go even though the light was still red and I was in front of them. I was thinking of painting a bulls eye on the back of my bumper. First time I was in a really bad part of town, the girl had no insurance, couldn't speak english, and I had to help her push her car of the street after she hit me. The second time the girl faked like she was pulling over with me and took off. It was in the middle of rushour so I couldn't catch her. Both times I was not hit very hard but it did crack my wings west bumper and mess up the paint. Damn stupid drivers pay attention. Thanks for letting me rant. I am really nervous now when I am stopped at a stoplight it seems everyone tries to get really close to me when I am in the Miata. This happen to anyone else?

I would carry a camera or a small hunting rifle. That way you can take a pic of all the license plates of people who hit you, or at least blow out their tires so you can chase them on foot.

A .22 MagnumLR with a scope camera... put holes through cars and get it on film for all of us to enjoy.

and that way you can tell the police, "yes sir the car will be easy to spot. it's the blue honda accord with what will appear to be .22 entry holes in the trunk and tail lights."

you know it might not be a bad idea to carry a paint ball rifle in the car. hmm....

I have seriously thought about having tennis ***** dipped in aircraft remover on standby for such instances. That stuff will peel back paint in a couple seconds. My buddy used to have a CRX that had the washer nozzles on the back window pointed backwards so he could spray people. Aircraft remover in that would be awesome lol.

Eh hate to say it but get used to it and be a very aggressive and defensive driver. A buddy of mine (Roy, Lucky Kid on m.net) has been rear ended over 3 times in his old miata IIRC, not to mention getting hit in parking lots and what not. Some people just have bad luck I guess.

Uh...yeah. I had two different yellow Miatas and both were rear-ended and totaled while I was stopped waiting to turn left. It's not like they could have BEEN a brighter color. Both times it was an inattentive female driver. One had insurance, the other didn't have squat (insurance, license, registration, etc.). The first was a Cavalier, the second was a POS Tercel. Sucks pretty bad but that's life in the big city.

Last week, I was coming back from an autocross in my MSM, waiting to make left hand turn into my development when I see a white SUV with a female driver came barreling down on my. A mile back I saw her fussing around in the backseat so she probably had a little infant back there, but she did have a younger child in the front seat. She probably wasn't paying attention to my brake lights and left hand turn signal, nearly rear ending me at her speeds of about 50+ mph. She swerved at the last moment, tires squeeling, just missing me. I saw her coming at me at a decent speed in my rearview mirror so I started inching over towards the other lane without jeopardizing a head on collision with oncoming traffic. If she reacted a half second later, she would've rammed me and pushed my car into oncoming traffic :\

WOW, crazy to hear other ppls stories.

Last summer i was stopped at a stop sign and i could see this huge dodge RAM :gay: behind me pretty fast. Welp, sure enough he taps me into the intersection! WOW...WTF. So thank god there was no traffic and i was able to back up to safety. He was a 16yo punk and he said his brakes wernt working!!! I could not say anything to that, i just gave him the dumbest look. Miata - new finish panel and trunk lid. RAM - not even a scratch! I actually started laughing when i was looking for even a smudge of paint on his, but nothing. Anyways, its all good. He paid me in cash.

my wife drives a fairly large ford taurus.... she has been hit at least 3 times in parking lots (hit and runs while she wasn't in the car) in the last month. If people can't avoid stationary/parked objects there is no hope for the future of our species.
