Houston is hotter and more humid than Atlanta, has the same dangerous, run down sections you find in many large cities, is flat as a board, is built in a swamp, and smells bad all the time.

Austin is pretty good. I used to live there. I like Texas. It just gets a little cooler than I like in the winter, but life is a series of trade-offs.

that would be awesome, ice cold alcoholic beverages is a win in my book!

Yeah, I know there will be some trade offs. I just have a feeling that there are more pros than cons to living there. Georgia just kinda sucks all around. lol

Any place will be what you make of it to a large degree. Sometimes changing your scenery can help you change the people and places you spend your time around. This can be the greatest benefit of moving. This is coming from an Army brat who moved around every two years or less all my life. Sometimes you can re-invent yourself in the image that you want to be. When no one knows you, there is no baggage but what you bring with you in your head. You can be who you would like to be by just doing it.

Hanging around in Houston (stayed in The Galleria area) and wondering around that area as well as some others, wasn't that bad. Texas City was...ummm...strange. I mean, some area by the airport (Bush) seemed like they could be "interesting" come sundown, but in the day it wasn'y much different then that area we have here in Atlanta called Buford Highway I'm sure we didn't stumble into the worst areas...I've done it here and know where not to go again.

Texas hospitality consists of BBQ and lots of beer. Especially on football sundays.

I'm not a Cowboy's fan, I go for the Packers. I'll root for the Redskins too since they are in the Cowboys division.

Yah!!! So how far are you from Begi? I plan on going out there at least one day to hang out at their shop. Also I am looking forward to a lot of good BBQ.

Since I live right next to downtown, Begi is a good 40 min drive up to Spring Branch. About 30 miles. Its a little closer for whoever lives along loop 1604.

With the large military presence in SATX, you'll find gatherings of all kinds of fans. - I've a buddy who I served w/ in Korea who meet w/ one of two Browns Backers groups.

I am more than certain Steph and Corky would be willing to do a little show 'n tell at the shop. 'Tis an easy trip to make, and depending on the route, an enjoyable one as well.
