Star Trek: spoilers, conjecture, etc.
Split off from: https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t34830/
In "Nemesis", the plot centered around a pissed-off, bald-headed Romulan with a highly advanced and scary looking uber-weapon of a ship (with an excessively large, open, and form-over-function bridge design) who sought the destruction of the Earth and the Federation, and who was attacked but not destroyed by being rammed with a starship.
In "Star Trek", the Romulan also has facial tattoos.
Apart from the fact that a lot of things just seemed to happen too quickly with without plausible explanation, that was really my only gripe.
OTOH, the way they portrayed the Kobayashi Maru had me in stitches. That was absolutely, 100% pure James T. Kirk.

Thus far, there seem to be only four standard plots for a Star Trek movie, which cycle in repeating triads. Based upon this, I've constructed a chronology of films to date, and then projected outwards to predict when we might expect to see the Borg again. Italicized plots represent conjecture.
1- Plot A: Mysterious space entity destroys everything in its path (V'gar).
2- Plot B: Old arch nemesis (Khan).
3- Plot C: The Klingons.
4- Plot A: Mysterious space entity destroys everything in its path (Whale-speaking thing).
5- Plot B: Old arch nemesis (Spock's half-brother).
6- Plot C: The Klingons.
7- Plot A: Mysterious space entity destroys everything in its path (Energy-ribbon).
8- Plot B: Old arch nemesis (Borg Queen).
9- Plot C1: Picard grapples w/ Prime Directive. (This is actually Plot C of ST:TNG, so continuity of sequence is maintained)
10- Plot D: Pissed-off Reman with doomsday ship seeks revenge.
11- Plot D: Pissed-off Romulan with doomsday ship seeks revenge.
12- Plot D: Pissed-off Vulcan with doomsday ship seeks revenge.
13- Plot A: Mysterious space entity destroys everything in its path.
14- Plot B: Old arch nemesis. (Origins of the Borg?)
15- Plot C: The Klingons.
So the way I see it, we've got two more films before our old friends the Borg make another showing.

Nah. The Borg are like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. Their thought process on the matter is basically "What, me, afraid of you? Hell, I'm too badass to even acknowledge your presence. Get outta my way mother-******."

Why do you have three Plot D's and then you go back to ABC?
I also dont see the pissed off Vulcan thing happening again because there are just not that many of them left this "time" around. Pun intended.
I think its either gonna be space entity, or borg.
My money is on Borg, nerds are gonna cream themselves at the site of CGI Borg and the movie will make more the second time around then the first based solely on that fact.
