TX2K14
Anybody going? I'll be there for the week with my shop, mostly on call for servicing broken GTRs but will be out having fun as much as possible the rest of the time. I'll be at the roll race and drag events, probably going to skip the dyno day. Hopefully will be out on the street at night for some shenanigans.
Here's what we're up to if anyone's interested: Jacks Trans at TX2K! Mobile shop at your service! - R35 GT-R - GT-R Life We've got a mobile lift for use at TWS and general emergencies, and have worked out a deal with Hennessey to use one of their lifts at the dragstrip. With any luck nobody will break and it'll be all play time.
Also, popping my Texas cherry with this trip. Do I bring my own sidearm, or are they handed out at the welcome center once I cross into The Republic?

Good luck, should be a blast.
I dont think you're going to keep up with anything at those events, seems like its just GTR's and Lambo's with a gazillion HP doing 140-240 rolls or something absurd now.
Even the "slow" cars there would absolutely demolish most turbo miata's, but I've never been so maybe what they don't record on camera are a ton of other cars that would be fun to mess with in a turbo miata.
Get videos plz

Oh **** no, I'm not taking my car. I'd look like a complete moron in that thing surrounded by all that expensive gear. My friend/coworker, however, is packing his 800hp Evo into our trailer, so we'll at least be able to beat up on the slower cars there We have plenty of customers with cars in the 800-1200hp range, and I'm hoping to be able to snag some ridealongs at night for some highway rolls.
And yes, plenty of video. At the very least, I'll be shooting as much footage as possible of cars with our trannies for a promo video. If I'm not elbows deep in a trans I'll have a gopro or still camera in my hand.

I get happy and sad in the pants all at the same time when looking at TX2k events. Something about a 200hp miata or even a 400hp monster miata just isn't exciting when you are watching 1200hp lambos worth more money than I will make in a lifetime. Its a dick measuring contest that I don't even have the fortitude to pull out.
