Again, to travel in by air you need a PP.

Currently all you need to cross the land border is a government (state or federal) issued id and a birth certificate. You also get an $800 exemption for items bought in most foreign countries. Just make sure you get a bill of sale, just in case they ask. Good luck.

You will be surprise how many foreigners (legal and illegal) have state drivers license issued to them.

In CO you need a passport or birth certificate to get a DL issued, no exceptions.

Welcome to Canada.
Lol nice. Note to self: bring a can of spray paint in other color than red...

From all your posts it sounds like I'm good to go. I'm just hesitant because I have never done this before. I'm going to have the car cleaned out of EVERYTHING. Obviously I'll need to clean out all of my drugs, alcohol and firearms.

Philip is right about the new passport laws. As of next year you need one to cross the border no matter what.

1redcanuck, that hardtop is MINE. I already put a deposit down on it. I've only been wanting one for 2 years. The paint is rough, but it doesn't matter to me.

that's why so many mexicans have NC licenses. and a good reason to hate NC.

It's legal for illegal immigrants to get a driver's license in LA County now. Go LA!

And it really infuriates me that Americans are legitimately nervous about entering their own damn country now. **** Bush.

Well, I drove 550 miles, had to listen to a droning exhaust, spent 13 hours and went through 2 tanks of gas, but I got it. Customs didn't give a ****. Told them we were going to the casinos and they didn't even pay attention.

We stopped off in Toronto and went in the CN tower. It was really awsome, I loved the glass floor. I have to say Canada was very nice, but boring as HELL between cities. I loved the service centers, or centres.

All in all, Canada was fun. I hope I don't need to do a trip that long in the Miata again ever. Having no cruise SUCKED, and revving at 4k for 3 hours at a time was LOUD. Anyway,

Here it is in all it's glory, my ugly red hardtop! Hopefully it will be blue soon.

I'm thinking of going to ALberta to pick up 4 cars for a total of $2000.... do you think I'll have any trouble on the boarder? 4 old cars that you have to trailer home because non of them run... that is 1day 8 hours of drive each way from my house.
