Prob one of the stupidest things I have ever seen, but cool.
So last weekend I took a roadtrip up the eastern shore to Delaware to see "pumpkin chunking" what a day. I know some of you have seen covered on discovery but dammmmm theses guys are serious. I had a great time.
It was prob 10,000 people there for the event that included lots of drinking, toilet seat toss(horse shoes), and some the the baddest types of machines anyone could dream up to launch a pumpkin through the air.
Heres some spec on one of the guys guns:
Weight: 28,000 lbs. (14 tons)
Length: The barrel measures 100 feet with a 210-mm bore
Farthest Shot: Over 5,016 feet (0.95 mile) during test firing
Ammo.: Punkins, melons, bowling *****, frozen turkeys
Muzzle Velocity: Over 500 mph
Propellant: Compressed air provided by Kaeser Compressors
Construction: Fabricated by S & G Erectors of Howell, Michigan in 1999 and reconstructed several times since.
Constructed of Steel and Aluminum and includes programmable electronic controls, hydraulic target positioning, two stage firing and forward breech loading
Here some pics:
