I think you're thinking of Argentina.
EDIT: And they lost to Germany in a shootout after 1-1 in regulation and overtime. This was after also playing overtime against Mexico but avoiding the shootout. Host country went to the quarterfinals due to the only part of soccer I really don't like (besides lack of ref accountability). The PKs can go either way, and don't really determine the best team.
England also went home in the same round, same fashion.
EDIT 2: I actually hated to see the WC won on penalty kicks.

EDIT for Rafa: What can I say they played like pussies, and the coach fucked up AGAIN by letting Guevara play, and making bitcth subs. It was a long shot to win, but we could've at least played better.

Germany would also have to win group, and D is as up in the air as we were. I hope we end up against Serbia or Ghana this round, and take Germany in quarters too. But then we eventually get buttfucked by Argentina after they wipe their asses with the Central Americans in their path.

In the case Argentina goes through, I hope that so does Ururguay. I think they would want a re-match to the last qualifier game they lost to the Argenfags.
