Cause of blown motor? I'd like to see the afr and timing maps of your tune.

Actually, I do have an Innovate air/fuel sensor that talks to my E-Manage Ultimate, a big Mishimoto radiator with the stock fans wired together, and a coolant re-route.
You have to get an oil cooler on that thing. I saw 275*f oil temps in a friend's 140whp NA NA before we added the oil cooler. You are definitely over 300*f.

Timing and afr won't help if it spun a rod, which is what it sounded like. Oil temps on the other hand would most likely be the culprit in a spun rod bearing situation.

I thought it sounded more like carnage than a spun rod. It wasn't a " knock knock knock", it was "crunch...clank clank clank."

Oh did it? I only overheard it for second and I was kinda far away.

If any engine every said "the pistons are no longer connected to the crank", it was this engine.

Suspected cause: lack of oil in engine due to failure to constantly check oil.

Currently, the 0086 is back in its garage, where it will stay until I pay off the enormous debt I've managed to accumulate. 0086 received an engine transplant from a junkyard '99 automatic.

Enough about this; let's talk about tires and shít.

I have to skip two events in the first half of the season to pay for the van, which I must buy immediately because the owner is going back to Italy.

Do I skip MSR-C because I can usually go there for $50 per day with my bro-in-law, or do I skip Grand Sport or HHR because they are both far away and both with be hot? I know I will have to find another to skip, it will probably be TWS in the 2nd half of the year.

I should have paid this student loan off a long time ago, what a fool. Oh well, I had fun not paying it off.

I'm not sure how I did not see this thread earlier! This is not full-res.

If you want the full-res file, PM me with an e-mail address to send it to. It's too big to attach here.

And yes, this TxMC weekend was definitely a win. It was great to see everyone again.

Are you guys going to berate me if I come to hang out but not race? I need to buy the van, buy MS2, pay John for the VVT engine, and continue paying down the student loan since my job is ending and I may start school soon. Maybe I can run the books or something instead...while drinking beer of course.

I will give you a conservative amount of crap for not racing, but you gotta take your medicine. It's not like I can say anything, hell I missed pretty much all of 2011.

When did all of that happen? Going back to get your masters?

It's been brewing for a while, tracking the car is not cheap, the van is too cheap to pass-up, and the engine swap is nearing "necessity" considering my weekly road-trip to Houston. Everything in life keeps getting more expensive and my pay is static.

I worked out a few different deals to handle data management for my office for the time being, but my position terminates in 11/13 so I'm trying to plan ahead. I cannot afford grad school, nor were my grades good enough to get into a decent school. Right now I'm looking at a trade school or cert program for something in the database administration, DB security, or GIS world. Being a "hustler" isn't a valuable skill because that's 25% of the population, I need a skill if I want to continue at my current income level. When the GF gets out of school and we can cohabitate under one roof, grad school is an option.

Bring some good beer and all will be forgiven. Oh yeah and take some tire temperature data for me.

Seriously though, no worries. Sometimes it is enjoyable to just come to the track and hang out since you can just chill and have fun. Plus you can always get some rides in other's cars, etc. etc.
