Default Miata Noob - Just getting started

Hello from Fort Wayne, IN.

I recently picked-up a bone stock silver '91 Miata with just a little bit of Indiana rust and holes in the top. With my wife's blessing, I'm eager to turn this into my first project car. I've been perusing this site and Miata.net for tips and suggestions.

I've done some Autocrossing in the past, so one of my goals is to improve the handling of this fine platform. I'm not sure where to start, so plan to hit the basics, and ensure it runs well, is drivable, and plan to get the rust under control. It is currently being stored due to winter road conditions.

My first upgrade was a NA hardtop I found in a local junkyard for $60. A fellow Miata owner turned me on to it.

This should be enough for my first post.

Welcome to the board. You need more power.

More power is a goal. I have been reviewing the options for adding power (1.8L swap, blower, turbo, or V8). I'm not sure which option would be best for autocross, but a DIY turbo looks like it might be a fun challenge.
