Default Greeting Newbie (sort of) from Texas

Greetings

My Name is David Tedeschi. Own a 94 Miata that I compete in TTE in the NASA TX region. I am an HPDE instructor for NASA, the Lone Star BMW club and Apex Driving Academy. Also instruct for the local Texas Street Survival program. I am a member at Motor Sport Ranch, Cresson, Texas. I have been involved in track events since 2001 and settled on Miata track cars 6 years ago (love them). I have two sons age 23 and 27 and been married for 32 years. I am an AARP card carry member. One last thing I am a Program Manager at Parker Aerospace.

From the posts I have seen thus far, I recognize folks I instruct with. I am sure there are folks on this forum I have given check rides to advance into competition. Hopefully there will be future ones.

Bottom line; I am a crazy old fart Engineer in a Miata that can make it go and I enjoy getting folks into competition on the track.

David

It can sit on the trailer for months, I take it to the track, start it and after it warms up it is ready to go. Post 6

Sorry about the one line posts I am trying to get my post count up so I can get to the magical 15 posts so I can PM the folks I know on this forum. Figured since I started this post and this is in the noob section I am not really Hi-jacking a thread or breaking any rules cause I am a noob

I see you are close by. Come out to MSR Cresson much?

Welcome David. There are more than a few people on here at compete in NASA TX, and like you said there are some that instruct. I know Ryan Logan is one right off the top of my head. I will be out there in 2014 in PTE trim, but for now we are focusing more on ChumpCar and doing side track days when we have time.

Funny to see you here David...you came to the right place. Still gathering that ABS info for you...I dug out that booster and master cylinder out of storage last night...

New cage is painted and wiring is going back in the 94 SM...it may actually see the track before summer if I can remember where everything goes!

Welcome! Unfortunately for you our forum doesn't count consecutive posts. I'm sure you have plenty to contribute so just read around and respond to things you have interests in.

Welcome to the forum.

Since you brought it up: Are you going to a Member Day at MSR on or around Good Friday? I've got the day off of work and I'm looking for a member to invite me. Since you and me are old friends now, I feel comfortable asking you.

Oh, yeah. It was up and running in February of 2012, and I even drove it to work today.

I saw one post where somebody was saying why would any body want to add ABS in a Miata. John response was very right on, he ask if they ever flat spotted a Hooiser? When I told Susan I was going to add ABS she said great the tire budget will go down.

Since we are best of buddies, got to ask, your signature says Woodlands Texas, so to make first session at MSR Cresson I think you would have to leave the house at 3:30 AM. Do I got that right?

If you know Ryan, you would know me. I think Ryan and I are one of the old time NASA instructors.

Everyone I know who has done ChumpCar loves it, way better then Lemons. I need to get involved, or I should say make more time and get involved.

Nah, standard practice is to set out the night before, sleep at that hotel right across the street from the track, and get there bright and early for the driver's meeting.

I forgot to add you know they require a race suit for a members day because of the different insurance. Not sure if you knew that. You can rent one for 5 or 10 dollars a day.
