Just dropping in to say hi.
I dont have time to post much, but do drop in and read. Really like this forum, much better than some of the other Miata forums I've visited. People actually talk about tech buildups here........... as opposed to how flush their wheels are _or_ how this fine lill "peppy" their weekend retirement roadster is.
The car is a black `99 LS, HLSD, FD RX-7 seats, 01-05 gauge cluster, Schroth harnesses, Enkei RPF1 w/ RE01R tires. Bunch of other goodies too, but I dont want to bore...
^ Recently the BP took a dump, started knocking and realized #4 bearing was worn. Look at those pretty little shavings, they were tiny slivers at the bottom of the oil pan. Not exactly pleased with the durability of these motors, but anyway...
So, for the past 6 months the motor has been disassembled and undergoing full rebuild. Head, block, etc. Here are some current pics:
^ Nothing too crazy, just a clean rebuild trying to reinforce the **** that mazda cut corners with. ARP studs and what not.

Also working on my special project which has turned out to be a full-out restoration of my S13 hatch which you'll often see lurking in the background. Here is a pic of the motor:

Oh, and the NB was essentially purchased for the wifey years ago. Hopefully this rebuild will make it more durable. Still hate the tan interior and lack of power. Its equipped with an RB header and straight exhaust, but still.. could use some spool. Picked up a Voodoo box and am considering manifold, turbo, IC, oil pan.. but having second thoughts. Time will tell if this lill ****** gets boosted or not.
