Hi everybody,
Greetings from Illinois, crooked Governor capital of the U.S. I just became the new owner of K20 Mini"s 2000 SE.
Specs:
2000 SE six speed with a FMII GT2560 turbo kit.
FM 2.5 stainless catback (no cat)
FM springs, agx shocks, FM front sway bar
Mega squirt DIYPNP built by Brain
RX7 PnP 550cc injectors serviced within the last 2000 miles
Toyota COP
new Hawk hps pads and stainless lines
FM brake prop valve
Act clutch
mocal oil cooler 180 deg plate with b&m cooler
greddy rs bov
innovate wideband
VDO boost and oil temp gauges
15" rota slpistreams with 205 50 azenis
Made the almost 1000 mile trip to Chicagoland without a hitch. Special thanks to Dan and his wife for putting up with all my questions and getting me pointed in the right direction (North) to get outta town.
This is my third turbocharged car. I currently own an 86 Audi 5000 CS Turbo Quattro (many mods @ 300 hp) and the DD, a 81 VW Rabbit Pickup Turbo Diesel (many mods also 132 whp) @ 40 mpg.
The Miata is an amazing car, great hp to weight ratio, great handling, very solid. But like most people here, there is always room for improvement.
Thanks for the wealth of info here.
I know, I most keep repeating
"The Search Engine Is My Friend........"
Cheers,

My plans for the future is to try to get up to speed on the Megasqirt system. I wish there was some kind of "Megasqirt 101". After hearing about the group buy ECU, I'm questioning if the one that's in there now is good enough. But I don't have any knowledge base yet to say.
The Audi could be turned into a track car, but I didn't want to go that direction with it. It's going up for sale soon, which is weird for me, I've owned it for at least 12 years, so its like a really comfortable pair of shoes. Something you have spent a lot of time with and know very well. The Miata will become the track car, and hopefully I can develop that same level intimacy with it. Right now the Miata is really new technology for me. There's a ton of info on this forum, so it looks like just reading stuff here is my new part time job.
Cheers,

Hey fellow Illinois guys,
Has anybody got together/ exchanged phone numbers? PM me for mine.
I'm interested in starting to use Tunerstudio. Would appreciate some local help.
triple88a (and possibly others), how do you get around the state emissions problem? Since my car is newer than 95, I know I'll get my invite. So, what's the solution?
Thanks,
Jeff
