Just purchased a 2001 LS, 6 speed. Check engine light is on. The local Mazda dealer and Autozone hooked up their analyzers, tested and gave the same reading...P0420...Catalyst system efficiency below threshold. Which forum should I post questions to? I've heard that catalytic converters can be damaged by misfires, other electrical issues, injector issues, ecu issues, and if not corrected prior to replacing the catalytic you run the risk of damaging or ruining the new one you just installed.
