The first of many stupid questions
I have been reading through the stickys but decide on exactly what i need to get the job done.
Starting this winter im going to be building my own megasquirt ecu. between my dad and i we can get the thing assembled, no problem there. but cant decide on what parts i need to put into to get the right outcome. i want it to be a standalone system, the car has had the ac removed so that dosnt need to be wired in. oh and i want to keep it MBC.
What all should i need, to do it correctly.

wiring harness you can do a couple ways, I cut apart another ecu to get its main connector out and wired up wires to the db37 soldercups that come with the kits.
I just bought some wire and did mine up, or you can buy diyautotune's colored coded wiring, they also have prebuilt harnesses.
Check their wiring componets area.
you haven't said anything that I noticed would need addon cards.

I'm not sure, but I know they are available. Do a search, I seem to remember someone posted links to a source.
In my case, I just went MSPNP . . . problem solved. But it is more expensive, and I often wish I was MS2 or MS3 based.
It is really easy to change tunes. Takes about 5-10 seconds. However, I don't think you're going to find it necessary. Generally, you select between the "race tune" and the "economy tune" with your right foot.

just wondering if you can program it to have warnings/ do something about a problem. lets say a/f ratio drops below 12:1, i would like a buzzer or something to go off. and maybe within the ms change settings automatically.

Also, for the harness I would spend the $$$ on a DIYBOB - http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/d...pin-p-411.html
I imagine it would make soldering the harness way, way easier.
