Im sorry but can you explain to me what a wasted spark setup is? Ive heard the term thrown around but never knew exactly what it was.

Wasted spark is when 2 cylinders spark together. One spark is generated at the beginning of the intake stroke, the other at beginning of the combustion stroke(if you spark at TDC)
In case of a 4-cylinder engine like the miata: 1 and 4 spark together, 2 and 3 spark together.
The advantage is that you only need 2 coils, but no distributor. Newer cars have one coil per cylinder.

yeah if you cant find some one close i can do it ive built them for lots of setups and i built one for miata wasted spark also for use on my escort

I've done a COP / Wasted spark setup that works really well. I don't see any reason why the MS couldn't do a true COP setup. A couple of VB921's and play with the firing squence and you'd be in business.
