I need to protect the lower radiator hose, heater hoses and brake lines from heat. I was going to get a turbo blanket and wrap the hoses in this.

2" x 50FT Manifold Header Exhaust Thermal Heat Tape Wrap + Ties Titanium (J) | eBay

Is this a good plan or should i go into a different direction. I plan on replacing the rubber lines with silicone, if they're available, in the future, so the wrap would be for a few months. Car is street driven with an occasional 100 mile highway trip.

I had bad luck with turbo blankets working too well and cooking the turbo bearings. Apparently it is a common problem.

A line of sight barrier of metal works. So does wrapping hoses and lines. For the radiator hose, an old radiator hose split lengthwise and covering the active one works pretty well to insulate from the heat.

If you are still getting to much boost, then that means the wastegate hole needs to be opened up some more. A quick test is to disconnect the wastegate rod from the flapper and wire the flapper open. Then go do a pull and see if you make boost. You should not make any, or a 1/2psi at most. If you are making more then that then the hole needs to be enlarged more.

Same here, my old 2860 was already on it's last leg.

Putting it to bed so to speak with a blanket cooked it and made the situation much much worse.
