Default Newb pressure switch question

I'll be running 12psi boost.

I have a 2-10 pressure switch. If I am adjusting it according to what DO states (1/2 - 3/4 max boost) does this just mean set it to 6psi? The DO check valve cracking pressure is 16psi, so I'm confoozing.

Your generally going to have this adjusted from 1/2 to 3/4 of your max boost. Pick which one will give you the most range. Most supercharged cars will need the 2-10 pressure switch. And most Turbocharged cars will need the 6-30 pressure switch.

Yes.

The DO check valve cracking pressure is 16psi, so I'm confoozing.
That's 16 PSI of water pressure. Two different systems.

The pressure switch tells the pump when to turn on. If it's set at 6 PSI, then the pump will come on when manifold pressure exceeds 6 PSI above atmospheric.

The checkvalve is there to prevent the negative pressure in the manifold from siphoning water out of the lines when you are in vacuum. (This presupposes that the nozzle is located after the throttle body, which is usually not the case in our installations.) The idea is that no water will flow through the valve unless there is >16 PSI differential across the valve.

When the pump comes on, pressure in the water system will rise to well above 100 PSI, overcoming the check valve and allowing water to flow through the nozzle.
