if it's a real gt2560r and is a dual ball bearing, you need a CHRA exchange right? I've just been reading you can't rebuild the dual ball bearing ones, which from my understanding is what the R in the gt2560r stands for

I read about it before buying it from other guy here a while ago. But I contact some guys at Turbos R Us online and they offer me a rebuilt it wasn't cheap but it can be done.. Im going to assume they have some kind of connections with Garrett or a dealer but they would do it.. I also found a set of rebuilt kits online with bearings but dont know if they were legit.. the price from those guys for a full rebuild was $300

Dumb question, but what leads you to believe it needs a rebuild rather than it's just going out? Does the compressor or turbine wheel hit the housing? How much shaft play for and aft?

Well Im not seen it run.. I bought it like this I had plans on rebuilding or used it for an exchange to save some money in a new but my budget just flew out of the window and was obligated to sell all my parts. The guy said it started to leak oil and with that started to burn it as well so he decided to take it out and we both inspected it and the turbo compressor and turbine are fine it has a little shaft play and I do recommend to change the bearings.
