Here are some pix of the RB20DET, It doesn't say garret on it, it doesn't really have any markings at all. Like I said in the OP, bought it from Splitime, he mailed it directly to BEGi, they mailed it to me. I found my 2560 while it was still in BEGi's custody, so after they sent it to me I opened it saw it was a little turbo and put the box on the shelf.
Everything I know about it was from the for sale thread I linked to in the op. Splitime is a respected member here, I don't doubt it's what he says it is. I just can't verify it. Pix show what it is. It spins freely with no play. As far as is it ceramic? All I can say is I don't think so, perhaps splitime can speak up, and verify it's origin.
Because of the T3 flange, It comes with the first 5-6" of the DP, a muffler shop can finish it off on the cheap, if you want to go that route.

First one has the little DP on it.

I suppose we did make a deal but clearly it’s no contract. I could likely get my money back through Paypal but I won’t do that. I’m going to let you keep the $500 and do with it what you will. I’d rather be out $500 and feel silly than be out $1,600 - $1,700 and have a box of parts I can’t really use. Leave feedback as you feel necessary but you’ll get no more money from me.
Hopefully that's not the case... Again, pardon my flake...

Very interesting Mike. I continue to be confounded by your thought process'.
Right after telling me you want my stuff, and sending me a hefty down payment, you offer to buy wontons dp, depending if you can get out of some predicament you got yourself in. The next day you tell me you are wavering as shown above. The phone conversations, pm's and whats above really gave me the impression that you were going to stand by your word and take delivery of this stuff on Wednesday, (as we agreed), that is, if no one else wanted it.
I even offered to take another $100 of our agreed price, because I felt bad for you. Then you send me the pm you quoted above. To tell you the truth it really surprised me. You gave me every indication that you would take this, if no one else wanted it. I apologize for not getting back you yesterday, but I really didn't know what to do. On one hand, I don't want to keep your money if your not getting any product. On the other hand, I think the whole point of giving a deposit is that I hold the product for you till delivery and the rest was paid off.
Iv'e spent the last several days here at work trying to decide what to do with you. Last night when you posted that you were a third party bill collecter, and hated deadbeats, it really made me laugh. I almost posted up a pretty sarcastic remark, but I figured I'd talk to you first, before I made our **** public. It's nice to see you have the same consideration.
It's kinda funny, I just bought a 2010 Dodge 2500 Cummings 4x4. I ordered it, gave a deposit, and waited for it. For some reason I doubt the dealership would have let me back out without loosing my deposit. I guess I could check the contract, but I won't, because I'm pretty sure I know the answer.
So, everyone, what do I do with this kid? Full refund? Partial refund? Drop $500 worth of miscellaneous parts off at his front door? Tell him to pound sand? Let me know what you think.

I had no idea that when I changed my mind this would create such a moral dilemma for you.
And I can handle any sarcastic remark you can dish out. Thing is, I don't owe you anything nor am I a deadbeat.
If anything, you'll be the deadbeat for keeping my money. Something tells me you'll get by without it. That is unless the payment on that brand new, shiny truck is straining your budget.

You should keep the $500 and sell the kit for the difference.

Another "0" feedback newb in a classified ad predicament, why am I not surprised?
You kind of put him in this spot. You committed to something and backed out.
Bailing on a deal makes you a deadbeat. I learned this very well in one of my own FS threads recently...a deal is a deal once both parties agree, and is an obligation unless both parties are content walking away from it.
I'd be REALLY pissed if I thought I'd made a $1600, had $500 of it in my hand, and the guy wanted to walk away leaving me back at square one where I was a week ago.
I don't imagine he's content with where this has gone, and you are solely responsible for creating this situation. Stop shifting blame in your life and you may grow a little as a person.
This subforum need a "blacklist" sticky like whoa.
This.
Can I make a partial payment on the new $1100 kit?
I talked to David yesterday, it does have a ceramic turbine blade.

Man, this is epic fail for many reasons. First, I don't think that I would ever sell or buy anything to someone who has such a low post count and no feedback, especially for such a big ticket item. No offense to Ecko, he may be a great guy and didn't mean to injure, but I'd rather deal with someone with whom I am somewhat familiar with their character.
To dstn2bdoa, your analogy about your truck is not precisely valid, especially if the truck was a unit that was custom ordered. I myself backed out of a deal I made with a dealer for a truck, and left a small deposit that I got back. But, it was a last year holdover that was on the lot, and the salesman I was dealing with was stalling getting back to me and changing the deal mid-stream. If it were a custom ordered unit, I wouldn't back out, but if it's an on the lot deal, I don't feel so bad about it, and expect my deposit back.
Which leads us back to this deal. Just thinking about it quickly, I think I would personally give the guy back his deposit, and work on reposting the whole kit fresh in another thread. You really only lost some time, and chances are that if there was a buyer out there before, in addition to ecko, there will be again.
And ecko, wtf is this "leave a deposit" **** on some used parts? You either buy them or you don't, don't play these kind of games again. I for one would leave a part f/s until I get payment in full from a real buyer. You can keep your deposit, I'll keep looking for a full cash buyer. If you don't have all the money up front, too ******* bad.
Have fun with this.

I gotta put my 2cents here...
Having sold/bought a ton of stuff on here and in general, this comes with the game. People will flake, and people will be scumbags.
The feedback is very useful, but we all started with 0...
Fact is he has a right to try and keep the deposit, because it was just that...a deposit. Both of them have a right to fight their case...
Buyer might make out with the $, but IMO will be considered a bit of a scumbag considering the situation (used parts, no loss of money, and i dont really see the loss of buyer--unless offers were made, refused, and once trying to recontact the other buyers was told they bought something else...), but again has the right to try..
Seller might get $ back, but IMO will be considered a flake. If your not sure, dont send money and make a commitment. Everyone has impulses, but if act (or begin to act) on them, then live with the consequences. Again, considering the situation (no realized loss to seller, no shipping/fees/etc..)
Personally, I don't take deposits anymore because of not wanting to be in the position. I'd rather just entertain offers and put people in queue honestly and let cards fall where they may.
In this case, if i were the seller I'd refund the money and move on just to get on with life. You'll be the bigger man, prob gain trust with someone who might have been on the fence as a buyer, and this guy won't get off as easy next time....deservingly so...
If I were the buyer, and seller refuses to give me deposit or reasonable amount of it I'd buy the whole thing and put it right back for sale. At least if I lost money reselling it would be very little if any, but once in my possession hell I might end up just throwing it on the car and living happily ever after.
So u 2 biatches MOVE ON...

I'm back, sorry for the time away, I have a life that needs to be tended too.
Thanks for the feedback everyone. ecko came to me, wanted to buy my ****, offered the down payment, asked to bail, then told me to keep his money because he was out. I never intended to keep his money unless he got some product. But he pissed me off with the sudden change in attitude, like it was my fault he was backing out of our deal.
So here's the verdict, I'm going to refund $400 of his $500 deposit. The kit is back for sale for $100 less than my op. ecko has paid the difference for the next guy.
I want to keep my good reputation as a buyer/seller, and I hope this incident gets past us soon.
ecko, I will refund your $ as soon as I get to a secure computer.
