possibly forsale - brand new 6 spd gear box, and my work wheels, and A048 tir
Guys-
in preperation of my 5 speed biting the dust, I had a 6 speed box built to replace it. I have over $800 in reciepts from Mazdacomp for new brass and gears and forks for the box. The parts were messaged by the installer who is known for building all types of race transmissions for mazdas including star mazda, grand am RX8's, and he is the installer that Quaife uses for their gear sets as well. The transmission is better than an assembly line new box and has been in my garage uninstalled for 6 months. I think you will pay $800+ for a used 6 speed with an unknown history. I'd like $1100 for this one obo. I know no one cares what I have invested in it, but to replicate, it would cost about $2k including the cost of the core box. I would really like to sell in socal, but I will ship if you pay for it.
I have biten the bullet on new 15x9 wheels (thanks emilio) and now can cut the ones I have loose. The are Work Meister S2's in 15x8 with a +15 offset. Custom order color of champagne and for maximum lip and a long wait. They are like new and have maybe 20 days of use on them (admittedly track use). No curbing or anything like that. I should also post these on a Honda forum, but I am ready to have them gone. $1350 local pick up in SoCal. I will ship if I have to.

I also have a set of Yokohama A048s in 225/50/15 with 1 track day on them. They are dismounted in the garage. $250 obo
I need the cash. The car is demanding another sacrifice and I can't afford the new stuff.
Also, I don't sell stuff often so am not certain how fair my prices are. I'm ok with a little constructive feedback if my prices are off base...

I said very fair because as mentioned in other threads they sell for between $700 and $1000 used and for only a little extra, they could buy yours that is as close to new as can be. Good luck with the sale.

Yeah, the shot peened MS gears only cost like $2-3/ea more than the standard 6 spd gears. It's a shame that you didn't get the MS gears, but that wouldn't stop me from buying or running this box. It's a sweat deal.
Also, the 6 speed can easily go UPS or DHL if you take the shifter off. We use a 48x17x16 box and it usually runs around 110lbs packed.

others can chime in here as well, but they are Yokohama's R compound tire. From a tread life perspective, they last about as long as a Nitto NT01 or Toyo RA1. These are the type of tires I used to use to drive to the track and home and turn hot laps for the weekend. I've heard of people with other types of cars getting 5 or 6000 street miles out of them with no track use.
These are barely used. They definately aren't new, but they probably have 90% of the tread on them. one of them because of my high offset wheels has a very shallow cut line on the outside of the tread where it touched the fender. It does not go all the way to the wear bar, so it is in no way messing with the performance of the tire.
If you are looking for cheap track tires, this is it.

couple people asked for tire pics. so here you go...
I mentioned in in people to a couple people that one of the tire rubbed by fender because of the wheel it was on. There is a groove/cut (I couldn't think of a less objectionable word) around the tire, but you can see its not deep. It goesn't go all the way into the tread. It was pretty hard to photgraph, so I guess that says something...

who did you order them from? Because I was told the same thing when I ordered mine. If you haven't paid for them, weigh them before you do.
I did trim the fender because I have carbon fiber ones you can not pull. I was also running 225s. If I was stretching something, I probably could have fit them with just a trimming.
On the 15x9s I'll be running 225s or 275s depending on the class...
