Default Wiring AEM X Series Wideband CANBUS to MS3 PNP PRO 2001-2005

This is pretty straightforward, but for those of you who need a visual reference like me, hopefully this is helpful!

You don't need to connect the analog wire, just 12+, ground, and CAN H/L

Great thanks! I'll edit my post so any other noob that needs it can have a idiot proof diagram with no confusion.

Am I correct in my understanding that to make this work, you have to switch over to AEM canbus protocol which eliminates the possibility of connecting additional accessories that speak native MS3 canbus?

I don’t have that answer, I’d be interested to hear from someone with more experience. What other sensors would you install that would need to speak ms3 native canbus?

PerfectTuning gauge, or a TinyIOx input/output expansion board. I've also seen people using an Arduino with a canbus shield to do various things.

Yes I suppose since there is only one set of CAN H and CAN L, then yeah, using it for the AEM gauge would prevent your from using the perfect tuning gauge or the arduino options.

That is my understanding as well, though I've never looked into connecting anything else up with CAN, and have no plans of doing so. All to say, I don't know all that well.

CAN devices get daisy chained together, so it is expected to only have one set of CANH and CANL pins. Unless things have changed since the last time I've looked into this stuff, Megasquirt CAN broadcasting has it's own protocol, which is what is used to communicate with CAN dashes or expansion like the TinyIOX. AEM uses a different protocol. If both were activated at the same time, there would be data conflicts. Thus if you use the AEM settings in your CANbus setup, you have to turn off CAN broadcasting.
