take a look at my oil cooler, I think the route might be too tight
I put this together with old parts and also wanted to accommodate a larger core if I need one ( so one of the lines was cut a little long.

does this routing look ok? to me it seems ok but it is boarder line too tight. I have mazda speed engine mounts so the motor should not move much but i'm concerned engine flex could crack the fittings because this set up does not allow much movement.
I was thinking about changing the lines so that the big curve is reduced, perhaps adding another set of male straits and 90 pipe female but more fittings means pressure drop but im not sure how many is too many. perhaps I need to just go with it and see what pressures I have and compare them to other peeps
I'm thinking about taking it apart and doing something like FM, simple routing, less turns. I dont really like how they have it mounted but it it is probably more efficient. you may notice all the lines are not indexed , tight, needs something around the swaybar bracket the car sits on jack stands. also you will see one line is damaged, I can change that out but i want to make sure I have it the way I want it before I cut up another long line.

You absolutely must sleeve the lines wherever they touch anything, or they will destroy whatever they are touching (including each other, if allowed to move back and forth).
You can do what Hustler does, or you can use old radiator hose (or whatever). But use something or that radiator support bracket is a goner.
The bends don't look extreme to me.

the lines are not even tight, this was a test just to see if it works but i'm concerned that even with mazda speed engine mounts the engine could start to pull the lines loose as it flexes. anyone else have something set up like this?

Once the image is uploaded to mt.net, right click, select "copy image location", then click the little mountain icon in the post box. Paste the copied image location code into the pop up window, and we won't have to click around to see your images.
Can you get a farther back picture? None of them look bad, but I have no idea where it's mounted, beyond somewhere around the sway bar. Which makes it so you can't use the stock under tray. Sounds lame, but using it is a lot easier than fabbing your own.

right now the cooler is mounted right behind the hood latch. I know this is not ideal for air flow but when I took measurements I wanted to make the bracket in such a way that I could install a larger core without doing much work or changing the lines and with building a complex bracket that might not work.
I might modify my bracket and drop the core to sit behind the intercooler. this would be pretty easy, by adding lower support to the intercooler and make a set of tabs to drop the core top bracket down to the right height. i'm not a fabricator so sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right.
