Default Oils...

What do the heavy track guys use for oils? Engine, trans, diff etc?

Wouldnt hurt to list your setup for trans and diff (i.e. 6 speed and kaaz or 5 speed and torsen)

im trying to determine what weight engine oil and trans fluid to use on my 1.6 with 2860 that i will be tracking hard in a month when track season starts up.

I use Castrol Edge 0w40 for engine, some Castrol full synthetic gearbox oil for the 5 speed and TorSen. Used to use Mobil 1, seems to work just the same.

Mobil1 all around, it's easiest to remember just one brand instead of a bunch and so far beyond a 1.6 diff blowing up, I've had no problems...yet. I run 10w40 for engine oil, but I'd like to start playing around to see how it affects oil pressures and temperatures during a track day. Pressures been suspiciously low lately...

What does OS Giken recommend for diff fluid??

I run torco in my ATS deft force. KAAZ also recommends Torco if you arent buying their product. Look into it.

OS oil is 80W 250 synthetic with no modifier, but its 50$ per quart...

I was told that this setup im running works wonders in this diff from the guys who built it at puddy mod racing.

I run 5w-40 Syn Rotella
Redline tranny and diff fluid.

Lets also ad, how many miles/track hours do you go before changing it?

My car sees less than 30 miles every 6 months on the street. Generally just to fill the tank up before i head to the track or to tune the fuel map.
