16.5 base + .8 tires - .75 weight = 16.55 * 150 hp = 2,482 lbs.
Oh, Eric - I just noticed that your formula was off a bit for your power to weight calculation. Should be as follows: weight/power + mod factors > class limit

so 2482/150 +0.8 -0.75 = 16.60 (pretty close since your tire and weight mod factors about canceled each other out in this particular case)

To find whp, its:
whp limit = weight/(16.5 - mod factors)

2482/(16.5 -0.8 +0.75) = 150.88 whp

So it sounds perfectly legal to me to ballast up on a points build, assuming you can make the hp for it to be worthwhile. As long as Greg is on board with it I guess..

Yeah the two nuances are basically. When classed on points, the question often comes up "Can I write whatever I want to in the Min Comp weight line on the classing form? And secondly, regardless of what I write there, for post race dyno/scale compliance check does it even matter, or does it only matter what I end up weighing in at?"

At Road Atlanta Greg wanted me to have a number on my form that would be used for both min weight compliance and the min adj W:P ratio. I couldn't just use whatever we weighed in at after the race...but he did allow me to write whatever i wanted on the classing form for min comp weight. Had to really nail the fuel load calc....because i needed to maximize my min comp weight for that MDE dyno.... normally i never even think about it because on all other dynos the fuel tank could be bone dry with a 10 year old in the driver seat and the car would still be over the adj min W:P ratio.

The weight can be either the actual weigh in after the race OR the weight submitted on the form, at the series director's discretion.
P. 19 section 8.1.2:

The “Adjusted Weight/Power Ratio” is calculated using the actual chassis dynamometer maximum horsepower of the vehicle (rounded to the nearest whole number), the actual, measured post-race/qualifying minimum competition weight with driver (Or, at the discretion of the Series Director, the Minimum Competition Weight listed on the TT Car Classification Form if the vehicle was either not weighed in impound, or the Dyno inspection was done at a random time), and other factors such as body type, transmission type, tire type and size.

Its interesting how much the shifter bellow seems to move as the speed increases/decreases. Tells you how much pressure is building up in the tunnel.

Video credits don't mention us. It's a Crusher clone down to the set up. Owner haggled trying to buy Crusher for about a month, then tried to buy parts off Crusher then asked to fly me out to Florida to tune his car instead. Frantic emails on Saturday from NASA championships on how to keep it from blowing the dyno saved his NASA west win.

I recall the state it was in when he first contacted me and how lost it was. I know that car wouldn't be winning anything without the small mountain of offline advice we gave. Over the years, I have given special support to a very select few customers. This owner received more detailed proprietary knowledge than any other race we have ever sold parts to. By far. And we seem to be persona non grata.

As long as we're posting lap records, here's TTD at MSR-Cresson from last month. And, I have a 949 sticker.

Emilio,

I am sorry that you feel this way. My car is inspired by and built with a lot of the knowledge that you pioneered with these cars. This is true. I appreciate that and respect that very much.

I figured I had repaid most of that by spending many thousands of dollars with you.
To say I don't promote or advocate 949Racing is not true. I am an active advocate for your parts on these forums and at the tracks I visit and have mentioned 949 in articles and interviews multiple times. I believe in your parts and stand by them.

The truth is, with all due respect, is that I don't think you have ever really had a vested interest in my program. A lot of the time I receive one word responses that say "proprietary" or something along those lines. And that is fine, I understand and cant be mad at that. You have a business to protect.

For that reason my car is not as close to Crusher as you say. A lot of things are copied. A lot of things aren't. I run a completely different setup than what you have publicly advertised. Totally different alignment settings and spring rates.

The partners I have branded on my racecar and mentioned on my videos give me product and or money. Simple as that.

Again, I appreciate the knowledge you have given me. That's why I have spent the money with you to have all of your parts on my car and will continue too. I didn't realize you expected me to advertise for you as well. However, it isn't a problem. I will gladly throw some stickers on

Parts can be purchased from many sources. Parts don't win races by themselves. Information + parts does. You bought parts, I provided the info to piece it all together and win. For most folks, that's worth a sticker or at least a thank you.

I know the state of your car and program when you first contacted me. No one else here does.

I'm rocking 949 stickers on my car AND slow cooker, and all I ever got were some endlinks.

I'm not fast enough to warrant 949 stickers... I figure I'll just embarrass Emilio by representing his company withbmy slowly driven TTD car.

No proprietary information asked for or needed.

Trying to decipher the rules on FI and a points car. Do you always have to dyno reclass with adding FI to a car?

This is what is confusing:
FORCED INDUCTION VEHICLES will add an additional five (+5) points to the total
number of Modification Points to determine the final competition class. (Forced induction
vehicles that have been classed or re-classed by the National TT Director based on Dyno
testing are exempt from this additional five (+5) point assessment.)

Surely this doesn't mean it's only 5 points to add FI to a car?

FI is always a dyno reclass on cars that didn't come OEM with FI.

The +5 is for factory turbo cars.

That's what I was figuring, thanks for the confirmation!

I had a shower thought this morning......

Rotrex for TTC? I believe a fella down in FL did a rotrex setup and performed pretty well, at least on the east coast.

~13:1 ratio @ 2400lbs = 180ish rwhp(too optimistic?). I'm wondering how many points Greg would give at something like that though.
