So I just got my Innovate wideband O2 and just realized that I have a choice of either ordering a 2 or 3 hole gauge panel (decided on DDM works). Other than a boost/vacuum gauge (ordered one today) what is another MUST have gauge should I get? If I'm set with these two then I will just get the 2 hole panel.

Thanks for any input guys.

FYI: I have a 1994 so I should be all set with the oil gauge? Or am I not?

Get the "lack of turbo" gauge. It will always be pegged at 100%


No but really those 2 should be fine. You might want a real water temp gauge, but only if you want one.

Be kind to the less fortunate ones. My 5-6 psi is enough to make me smile at the end of the day too. May not be as fast as you can smile but slow enough to enjoy boost so to speak lol.

Water gauge? What benefit would I get in terms of temp? My three layered radiator seems to do the job fine.

So basically these two would be okay cool. Thank you sir. I will order the 2 hole panel then.

Oh if I would go turbo down the road would I need the water gauge?

If you're going to track it, oil temperature.

I got a combo Vacuum/Boost and AFR gauge from VEI. Both main functions in one gauge. Slick.

Ah okay an extra eye out. Well the 3 hole is a better option then. I'm in to making this set up efficient so 3 damn gauges be it. Thank you guys.

Well I have the Innovate MTX-L wideband and just ordered the Innovate MTX-L boost/vacuum (2 functions in one gauge). So I guess I will go for the MTX-L water and voltage kit.

It all matters what you plan on doing with the car. You may even need more gauges as said above depending on the use. Oil temp gauge is also nice to have.

2 functions in 1? Most gauges are boost/vacuum.

I mean the Innovate MTXL boost gauge has also the shift light gauge.

No racing just spirited driving. My goal is just to get her efficient and well equipped enough to hang in bench racing lol. She may get a turbocharged engine down the road when the 2 kids are done college. I have another 1994 that I'm building the engine for boost. It still has ways to go.

For now I think these three will be more than enough.

Well turbo or SC. the gauges stay pretty much the same other than the "lack of turbo" gauge already mentioned.

The stock gauge reads the same temp at anything between 90 and 230 degrees (ok maybe not quite that dramatic, but it's bad).

On your car there's a 140 degree range where you think your radiator is doing the job fine. My water gauge tells me what the actual temperature is, so there's a 20 degree range where I know my radiator is doing the job fine.

I really dig my VEI gauges. You can call/email the guys at VEI and they can build you dual function gauges in any combination you want. I have Boost/AFR, Oil Press/Oil Temp, Coolant Temp/IAT

Now I just need to figure out how/where to mount them.

Where are the grounds? I have a dual temp and they never, ever read correctly, they're like 50* off the real temp. If my water temp gauge says 127, water temp is 180*f. If the oil temp gauge says 122*, then oil temp is 230*f.

GOD DAMMIT HUSTLER! I NEED TO STOP BUYING THINGS YOU BUY! I'VE BEEN HERE LONG ENOUGH THAT I SHOULD KNOW BETTER BY NOW!

My intent was to be paranoid and ground them directly to the block, but as I've said, I've not had a chance to permanently install them yet. How are you validating your temps?
