A buddy with a Mazda repair business just had somebody drop off a '99 with a ForFuck'sSake m45 and a powecard on it. The owner says it surges at idle and dies until it warms up. My buddy works primarily on stock stuff and doesn't know WTF this horseshit arrangement is but wants to try to solve the guy's problem. He asked me for help and I said standalone, but that's not the short run answer for getting it out of my buddy's shop. Are there any tricks to smoothing the idle a bit in the short run? I'm thinking air bleed adjustment?

FFs never made a M45 kit. Only MP62, coldside or hotside.

I'm pretty sure your friend has a Moss kit.
Best solution for idle droop is the dual throttle body mod.

Idle droop has got nothing to to with the engine management BTW. It is a "throttled volume" issue.

Sorry for the misinformation. The supercharger had a BRP on it but the powercard and documentation that had been given to my buddy was from FFS (I found out after I looked at it myself).

Same exact problem (even down to the same BRP brand) and fixed permanently with DTB.

froggy..my m45 kit didn't have the idler control valve or IAC hoses. You indicated that I won't need them if I get the tdr check valve and air filter? This is for a 97 miata. I recognize this is an old threat, but it was the only one relovant.
