I Need Help With A Clutch
I ran my car at the dragstrip to see how it would do with the new turbo and next thing I know the clutch is going. I knew It wouldn't take long but that was quick. I don't have a ton of money so please dont tell me to buy some $1,000 clutch kit. But I was thinking about either a FM stage 1 Happy Meal or a FM stage 1 and pick up a good used 1.8 stock flywheel or even the FM stage 2 and a used flywheel. What do yall think? I have also looked at the ACT clutches but they seemed higher than they FM and didn't hold as much power. Dont know a lot about clutches and flywheels so I don't know if a used flywheel is good or bad thing. Thanks for yalls help

get the ebay f1 racing clutch for 150 bucks and keep your stock flywheel they hold for 250 or so whp pretty well.

i have a 4 puck unsprung act clutch with an extreme pressure plate. I had a F1 racing clutch for awhile and was more than happy with it for the $$ but if you wanna spend more cash than you have to on a clutch setup then by all means jump of onto a act or something else for 300 or more dollars. At the sub 250 whp lvl you wont notice much difference in clutch ability.

I have the ACT XTMM. I bought it because I couldn't find any bad reviews on them and I was able to get it cheaply through a sponsor. And even though a clutch job on a miata is pretty straight forward, I really wanted to do it once. My car isn't crazy HP but I only get to drive it when I am going to the dragstrip (every few weeks) or track, and this clutch has seen lots of abuse so far.
