Question about power, kaaz, and the 1.6 diff
Hey guys my car is about to go under the knife in December and January and I had a few questions.
I have a modified greddy kit that I'm installing. I'll start with my set up which is a Greddy kit with a Racing Mazda DP, Supra injectors, RX-7 FMIC, WB, and RX-7 AFM. I plan on running 5 psi on the stock AFM, and stock injectors to get it running and properly tuned the way it came from Greddy. After the 2 weeks to a month it'll take me to kill the clutch I plan on putting in a new clutch, supra injectors, RX-7 AFM and turning the boost up to 8-10 PSI like the PO of the kit was running it.
I'll also have a Kaaz 1.5way that is going into the car as well in a stock 1.6 pumpkin. I'm buying the LSD from Mike from Autokonexion and he said he ran it fine on 14psi and around 230whp.
My question is do you guys think the diff will last with 10 psi, the LSD and a good Clutch. Also this car will spend a lot of it's life on the track so keep that in mind.

How are you going to tune it?
I would suggest megasquirt with your future power goals in mind.
I would also get some rx7 440's or 550's instead of 305's. Give you some headroom
Then again all this can be found in https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t10821/

I say dump all the band aids and get real engine management, either way is only a matter of time before you have to go that route. You can find a used MS and injectors (Rx7 550) for about $600, which will give you enough room for 250whp.
About the 1.6 differential, is really a gamble Ive heard stories of them breaking at stock power, and I've also seen one last with 240whp. However you mentioned your car is gonna be tracked often, then dont gamble, ditch the kaaz get a 1.8 torsen swap- problem solved.

I have a MS DIY coming in Dec, I just don't know how long it's going to take me to build it since it'll be the first time I've ever built something like that.
This kit was an easy way for me to get started with FI so the band aids will only be on for a couple of months until I have a solid understanding for everything. I'm just trying to take it slowly since I have no prior experience with an FI car.
As for my orginal question I'll start looking for a Torsen.
And Hustler I'm not sure if that's sarcasm lol so ok.
And I also wanted to say thanks since I've been lurking for a while now and I've found hours worth of useful information. Between this and Maximum Boost I'll know the basics in no time.
