Default Best Miata ride height

My Stance coilovers are sitting next to me right now, and I was wondering what would be the best ride height. These coilovers are shock body adjustable and they come with top hats that allow more shock travel. The car is going to be used for autocross and daily driving. I read that anything below 12" will feel like crap, is this true? I was thinking going 12" all around or 12" front and 12.5" rear.

Thanks in advance

I'm thinking different coilovers handle differently at different heights. I think your question should be directed specifically at other stance owners. Unless we're talking looks, in which case lowest=best

get it corner-weighted and ask your alignment guy what would be best ride height for YOUR OWN DRIVING STYLE.

From what I have read about setting up my own suspension, it is adviseable to maintain .5" rake, so if you end up at 12 in the front, 12.5" rear will likely be the best handling balance. If you end up at 12.5" or 11.5" front, still maintain the .5" rake.

What's the point in buyins Stance if you're not going to look like one of those So-Cow slammed CR dipsticks? If you were wanting a car that could handle, you would have hooked with FCM or get some revalved KONIs and GC's.

BTW, i'm running 11.25/11.75ish

i agree.

IMHO I think stock height is the best unless you get trick suspension parts that move the shock bodies into the car to compensate for how the bumpstops are built in the car. If you lower it to much with out a monster stiffness spring you'll be riding on your bumps the whole time.

Yeah, I noticed that. Caught one the other day...man did those wheels put it up there.

Side note: I have never been more upset about NOT being in the Miata. I wanted to dust that Buick sooo bad.

Bonus if you go about 1/4" lower on the right side. That is pretty close to corner-weighted according to shaikh.

HAHA @ the 4x4 Miata

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Seems like 12"F/12.5"R is a good height. I bought the Stance because right now I can't afford a $2000 suspension, and I rode in a RX-8 with Stances and I really liked how it handled. I needed suspension ASAP so I sprung on it.

1. Stance dampers are dog ****.
2. Ideal height puts roll-center and center of mass in the same place. That't probably around 12", maybe lower. The problem is shock travel...do you have enough? I don't have enough in my Tein Flex to go any lower because I already have droop problems where I pick-up the inside wheel on corner exit in 4th. I should have gone with Robispec, but I fucked up.

Here's why stance pissed me off:
they give no shock dynos
these are 15-way adjustable and I don't know what that means. Actually I do, it means cheap **** with 15 clicks, not compression or decompression at speed. Real suspension has 4-*****, for a reason.
Their spring rates suck and they don't offer alternatives.
They don't tell you who makes the valves or if you get a mono or twin tube valve.
They don't tell you who makes the springs, I'd like to know if I'm dropping $2k.

They might be hot ****, but they need to learn a thing or two about advertising...that is, if they intend to sell dampers based on performance, of its just more cheap K-sport ****.

As for

As of yesterday I am at 11.75'' front and 12'' rear and have no issues with the bump stops. I'm running 36mm bump stops and FM springs on FCM mounts with factory R package Bilstein's. Love it so far. Excellent for a daily driver that enjoys some spirited driving and maybe an auto-x every now and then. Nothing competitive.
