those are the 9's? I'll be watching closely. I wanted to try the dunlop star specs as they are sticky as hell and supposedly last a touch longer than the other super sticky summer rubber. I have no idea if they are "skinny" or "wide" for a 205 though.
Doing some net surfing I've seen some 205's that looked pretty normal, and some that were... eww...

well my car will be ls1 swapped so i bought the 9s and i can deal with a little stretch for now but eventually it will have as much rubber as the car can fit.
and yes they fit over the sport brakes but just like the tirerack wheels so i will be running lower profile caliper bolts.
and they are really good looking wheels in person pictures dont do them justice

WTF? Have you read anything I've typed? Way to go attacking people over 10mm of tire.
You're talking about reppin' your hometown, and I'm a loser? I'm here for less than a year... **** your town, I represent myself. I don't want stretch, but I am going to try 205's to see how awful it looks. If I hate it I can always suck it up and get some 225's, (which will be an option if I get 9's) which if they taught you how to read down in the rich-kid neighborhood, is what I want on the damn car to begin with.
I'm sorry I want wide/light wheels, but don't want to go through 3 sets of tires a year, and deal with not even being able to get the damn things when track season starts up, elevated costs due to that; all on a car that honestly, gets me to work in the morning.
So I have a career and other **** in my life that makes me unable to track my car as much as I'd like. So I'm mature enough to not drive in such a fashion that requires something as sticky as an RS3 on the street. And I'm still waiting for you to show me a 225 tire that will fulfill my needs... Oh wait, they don't make that.
Let's put it this way: I'm either going to live with a mild stretch, or suck is up and buy RS3's. I'd rather do either than settle for a 15x8. If I'm ponying up the cash, I want a wider wheel.
PS: eat a dick.

Come on bro! This is miataturbo.net, you go big here or you go home. Its standard protocol to outfit your car such that it will see all sorts of time at the track, even though most will never even roll out of the hot pits for some parade laps. Anything short of that and you are a **** sucking poser ******, and that is fact!
But for serious..dont put 205s on a 9" wheel lol. Thats not a mild stretch, thats a real heavy stretch. As it is 225s on a 9" wheel are already stretched, most 225s are meant to run on 7-8" wide wheels, 205s can be run down on as low as a 5.5" wheel.
As for the RS3s, even though they are rated at 140AA, on such a light car like a miata, if you dont drive like a tool bag 24/7, you can prob get 15,000+ miles out of them

Honestly the biggest issue I have with the sticky tires is less the mileage and more the FOD they pick up. I used to work at a tire shop and just ran whatever was on employee discount. I've grown up a tad and decided to run some honest rubber, and I've gotten 4 nails in the last 10K. I've never had a nail before this set.
I've NEVER advocated the stretched look, and actually hate it, but I really want 9" wheels. Otherwise I'll just live with the set I have now. It's not like I NEED anything I put on this damn thing.

I get what you're saying about the wheels. 9's are cool but I would have a hard time justifying the limited tire selection. However, that is my opinion and what I do with my car is apples to oranges to what the majority does with their cars.
I don't track/auto-cross my car at all anymore. So I can get away with a 15x7 wheel and still have more traction than I need. Sounds like you are getting into track mode, that does warrant a wider wheel. Good luck on your decision making, I'm sure that some decent 225's summer performance tires will come out because I hear the selection is pretty limited if you want decent street rubber.
This K7 wheel is great looking, IMO, but the 6UL still takes the cake in the gorgeous department. (my opinion of course)
EDIT: Oh, I ******* HATE Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. I would not care if those cities were hit by a enormous Chinese fire nuke and burned to the ground along with all the people in them.

Ehh, you'll get it once you've been on here long enough. I'm just trolling because I'm bored. MT will make you develop a weird style of trolling/humor.

I've only been here (pcola) 6 months but I kind of dig it. What's so bad about it? Beats the **** out of Columbia MO (though I miss KC)

I mean... I've been here coming up on 2 years now, I just never posted till recently. Ya know, search noob. I'm often participating in the humor, but your post didn't contain any transvestites or POZ loads, and this forum is well known for hating stretch. It seemed like a perfectly typical MT post. It just pissed me off.
EDIT: Holy thread drift batman!

well a 225 on a 9" is still a stretch so there for everyone with them needs the hate your directing here.
i already have 205/50/15s and i have no reason to buy new tires if they do not look too bad. Also there isnt an all season in that size so im doing what i want not what everyone else likes.
i understand why i should have 225's but i have already accepted that i am going to atleast try the 205's my car isnt going to be on the track And yes i could of bought the x8 wheels but once again im not buying a second set when i want the x9s and at the end of the day well its my money bitches.
aha this thread turned into a cry baby bitch fest and i didnt even get to see hustler say anything entertaining.
